An easy drinking medium body lager, with just a tiny hint of roastiness and a noticeable but well-balanced hop presence that’s not overly bitter. An opaque black lager that reveals deep ruby undertones in the light. Munich, Pilsner and Black Malt flavors play off the flowery, spicy notes of Noble German hops. Cold fermentation and conditioning with Bavarian lager yeast assures a clean draught with a dry finish.

On tap at Vickery Park in Plano. The beer pours a black color with a tan head. The aroma has a lot of roasted malt, as well as some very light smoke and some light chocolate. The flavor is similar. I get a lot of roasted malt, as well as some chalky, powdery chocolate and some grain notes. The beer is fairly dry. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Clearish black with an average beige head. Aroma of not much but some roast. Mild taste of roast and ash. Thin. Nothing here. Didn’t even finish the pint.

On tap. Pours dark brown/black with tan head. Aroma of light dark grain, faint hint of chocolate with hints of earthy hop. Flavor is much the same but unlike the deScription, the hop stands out more then other schwartzbiers I have had, but just a tad. Light-medium body with medium-high carbonation. Overall, I would have a second one!
