On tap at Whip-In during RBWG 2012. Pours a dark amber with a small beige head with sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a raisin malt and caramel. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet malt flavor and light dry finish. A decent schwarzbier from Live Oak.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A dark brown medium bodied beer with a frothy tan head. Clean minerally aroma. Flavor is mostly toasty malt with a good hop balance. Backend is slightly creamy. Good on a spring day for sure.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap. Pours dark brown/black with tan head. Aroma of light dark grain, faint hint of chocolate with hints of earthy hop. Flavor is much the same but unlike the description, the hop stands out more then other schwartzbiers I have had, but just a tad. Light-medium body with medium-high carbonation. Overall, I would have a second one!

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours dark brown to black with a small head. Smell is smoky roast and yeasty. Toasty, roasty malt with an almost smokiness to it. Didnít have very good carbonation as it was poured on tap to a pitcher, and then my glass. Didnít care for this one and Iíd stick to their Pilz or Hefeweizen if given the chance.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pint glass at DH- served a black color with ruby undertones, 1mm off tan head that tried to lace. Aroma of milk chocolate, caramel, and determination- hey, thatís what the notes say! Hits the mouth with a well recieved medium body, malt tastes just slightly toasted- close enough, almost a silky sensation as it comes off the tongue. Austinís forgotten brewery can still turn some heads.
