Nose is dark malt, dark toffee, biscuit, dark fruits.
Taste follows, sugars, dark malt, toffee.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dryish execution.

On tap at Uncle Billy Austin. Roast and faint noble hop aroma. Dark brown with good white head that lingers. Tastes of roast malt, toffee, licorice, chocolate malt. Medium palate, correct for style. Dry finish. Good Schwartz Bier for the US.

Tap flight at Flying Saucer San Antonio. Brown pour that you can see through. No detectable nose. Flavor is roasty with a sweet syrupy characteristic and bitter finish in the back of the mouth while remaining sweet in the to the in front. Impressive slippery and creamy mouthfeel. Surprise.

On tap. Pours dark brown/black with tan head. Aroma of light dark grain, faint hint of chocolate with hints of earthy hop. Flavor is much the same but unlike the description, the hop stands out more then other schwartzbiers I have had, but just a tad. Light-medium body with medium-high carbonation. Overall, I would have a second one!

On tap at Vickery Park in Plano.
The beer pours a black color with a tan head. The aroma has a lot of roasted malt, as well as some very light smoke and some light chocolate. The flavor is similar. I get a lot of roasted malt, as well as some chalky, powdery chocolate and some grain notes. The beer is fairly dry. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

(Draught) Pours a dark brown (near black) body with a medium cream head. Aroma of roasted malt, minerals, and earth. Flavor of roasted malt, ash, grain, earth, and minerals with a dry finish.

On tap at Whip-In during RBWG 2012. Pours a dark amber with a small beige head with sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a raisin malt and caramel. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet malt flavor and light dry finish. A decent schwarzbier from Live Oak.

(Draught) clear brown-ruby with creamy white head. Nose of wet dog, a bit roasty, chocolate malt, corn and cilantro. Taste of roasted chocolate malt, toasty grain, lightly spicy, light/water body, just ok.

Draft. The look is brownish in color, light tan head, and has red tinges. The smell is burnt, malt, cereal, hay, dry toast, ok. The taste is malt, slightly burnt toast, dry, dust, and ok.
