Bottle at home. Maybe it’s a football thing but I’ve often chose something else, ended up really enjoying this. Good marks for drinkability, ended up nailing a few and yeah good stuff. Clear darkish gold with a thin bright white head. Nice aroma, some pale stuff and hops, flavour has some fruity hops and a nice bitterness. Good stuff. You can really taste the ship.

Angel, Manchester 23 Jan 13.Gyldenbrun. Lavt, litt farget skum som varer. Mye lacing. Lite aroma. Antydning til frukt. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken er tung: Overmoden fersken.

cask at cloisters. pours pale gold. nose is tropical fruit, sweet sherry, boozy but not overwhelmingly so. slightly unusual citrus profile but not ostentatiously so - no grapefruit here but more sweet fruits, pineapple? white grape? lots of body (highish abv no doubt helps here) but not dominated by the malt like so many IPAs. hops emerge towards the finish but some residual sweetness remains... like a good dram. if the evolution isn’t exactly complex its extremely well executed. on reflection a fairly remarkable pint. more please.

Cunningham (4499) - Halden, NORWAY - AUG 20, 2013

Appearance: Cloudy yellow color with a thick off white head that leaves a fine lacing.
Aroma: Rich grape hoppy and fine tropical fruity.
Palate: Medium + body. Slightly sweet and a rich bitterness. Soft to average carbonation.
Taste: Smooth balanced grape hoppy, tropical fruity and a fine malty back.
Overall impression: Tasty and powerful IPA.
Personal stats: Bottle from The Brewery in Liverpool, England.

Cask @ Anderson, Fortrose [110613]
Amber, clear, thin white head, slight haze
Aroma - Surprising very light, hint of light fruits
Taste of citrus hops, some tangerine, grapefruit zest, quite dense sweet fruity quite orangey malts, some alcohol is noticeable but it’s fine.
Palate - Medium body, oily, stinging zesty hops on palate, sweet malts. Finish as main flavour with a dab of alcohol.
Overall - Very little on the nose but had a decent flavour even though it was a bit boozy.

Half pint, cask by handpump at Angel, Manchester. Shared with Finn. Lasing white tophead. Clear amber coloured body. Malt-fruity aroma. Blended taste of oranges, caramel and herbal hops. Dry bitter ending. Good, a bit heavy to drink though (23.01.2013).

Bottle at The Anderson. 19th taster out of 19 at the 3rd Annual Burns Festival. I expected this to be a distant memory following the volume of ale consumed before this final taster - but I was very wrong. This was up there at the top as one of the best on the day. Beautifully balanced, great taste of pine, the right amount of hop and a dash of pepper. Incredibly good.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 12/10/2012. Golden in colour with a slight white head. Aroma of tropical fruits with sem grassy hops. Flavour of cereal malts, with more fruit leading to a dryish finish. Good.
