2014 version pour on tap at the brewery, hazy golden pour with thin white head, aroma brought notes of biscuit, white grape, hints of yeast, spice, some earth, touch of grass. Taste is slight tart fruit, white grape, peach, some hints of bread, biscuit, touch of spice, finishing with some oak, dry, slightly tart.

UPDATED: NOV 19, 2014 Bottle: 2014. Cloudy, translucent bright yellow with a slightly foamy off-white head, thin & quick to recede. Aroma of musk, hay, mild rotten pineapple Brett notes, dusty cobwebs, cotton must, withered wood, & hints of semi-tart green apple. Taste is kind of thin, almost a little watery. Slick & nice mouth feel, though. Brettanomyces present in the form of a light, acidic fruit skin tartness & a strong dampening of musty old barnyard floor. But not in a funky Belgian kind of way... Almost overly musk filled & dry without much balance. Strong notes of dried out wood, cotton, & bready yeast in the finish. Faint hint of apple, maybe some lemon. Kind of light all-around, & a little too Brett forward at times. Not bad, but fairly forgettable.

Draft to taster at The Livery. This is the 2014 vintage, which is 6% and aged in white wine barrels (and should probably be a separate entry). Looks solid; a transparent gold with white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells mildly tart and bretty with a soft presence from the white wine barrel. Tastes like it smells with a pleasantly tart mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

Aroma has qualities of the base biere de garde with added barrel and acidic notes. Taste is the same. Decent sourness, barnyard, malt, hint of oak.

Draft at taps 25. Clear copper with a small white head. Big sour and faint wine aromas. Tart and incredibly smooth. The wine flavor really comes in the back end and its pretty dry.

In short: A refreshing, complex, easy to drink, semi-sour oaky fruity blond ale. Excellent.
How: Bottle 22oz shared by Kyle at post-HF Harvest 2012 party.
The look: Cloudy yellow-peach body topped by a small white head.
In long: Nose is medium-wild, some light-color fruits, some barrels, horse blanket notes. Taste is rather smooth for the style, refreshing fruits (pineapples, white grapes, peaches, lemon zest), woody white wine, mild fruity sourness, refreshing tartness. Lively carbonation. This wild sour ale is far from intense but it offers a good complexity and a very high drinkability for the style, almost sessionnable. I loved this one. And speaking of Maillot Jaune, yesterday Lance Armstrong finally admitted what we everybody already knew, what he did was wrong but he did annoying millions of French people and tarnished one of their greatest tradition, he’s still an American National hero.

JulienHuxley (3480) - Hilversum, NETHERLANDS - SEP 27, 2012
Bottle at HF Harvest fest shared by Sarro. Pours pale yellow with nice white head. Aroma is winey, pretty typical white wine/soured grain/oak/brett aroma. Sourness remains tame however, more of a rustic attribute than a dominating trait. Palate is well carbed and dry, with a long winey aftertaste. Super drinkable sour, very good.

Draft pour on tap at GTMW 2012 (Madison, WI). Pours a richer straw yellow hue, touches of glow, bit of orange with a frothy whitish head atop. Dies to a small ring, laces small. Aromas are touches of straw, yeast, and funky brett. Horseblanket, oak, and gentle tart fruit. Some life. Initial is lighter end of the fold, touches of tart lemon and apple, gentle brett and funk, straw, and gentle yogurt. Middle offers some tartness, gentle yogurt, straw, and gentle oak. Some bready malts, dough, lighter and a touch vibrant and fizzy. Backend is a bit of estery apple and pear, gentle tartness. Lingering funk, fairly crisp, medium funk and a bit of tartness. Nice lighter summer Wild with some high drinkability.

Sampled from the tap at the 15th annual MBGSF. Pours a hazy pale gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a nice light tart lemon and peach note to it with a nice funky backing and a bit of barrel coming through in the finish. Flavor begins slightly tart with lemon and peach with lemon remaining mixing a funky grain note and a dry finish.
