kmweaver (1813), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA Apr 28, 2008 Draft @ The Livery. Pours a slightly oily, dark chocolate brown color; dark brown head with excellent retention and fine-bubbled lacing. Lots of chocolate, nougat, and cocoa in the aroma; plenty of chocolate. Medium mouthfeel: excellent dry stout presence: loads of chocolate, milk chocolate, cocoa, and chewy tootsie rolls; excellent, dense chocolate character; very drinkable, with a touch of oiliness. Medium finish: cocoa, chocolate, and a touch of bread and toffee. Cornfield (4254), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Oct 18, 2007 This is a pretty decent Dry Stout, even to one who’s not crazy about the style. It turns black in the glass and is capped by a creamy light brown head. The aroma is strong with roasted coffee, barley and malt, yet retains an underlying sweetness. Drinking is like supping a cold cup of coffee lightly spiked with alcohol. It finishes on a dry, mildly bitter note.
