Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma with some hopy grapefruit hints. Sweetish malty caramel flavor with some hoppy hints and some tart hints. Has a fruity malty warming caramel finish with some hoppy hints in the aftertaste.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 harrisoni (10911) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - OCT 4, 2009
Bottle at RBESG 09 Sheffield. Sour and hoppy. Big rubbery yeast aroma. Too sharp and acidic for me. Not much of a doppelbock. Decent sourness though.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 thebaldwizard (1204) - Ohio, USA - MAY 4, 2007
Shared at DLD by BBB63. Light caramel malt aroma. Medium brown body with light head. Medium palate. Grassy hops up front, followed by caramel malt and a hint of fruits. I thought the grassy element was too overpowering, and that took this beer down a few pegs for me.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 thedm (4773) - Fort Wayne, USA - AUG 3, 2007
This gowler from BBB63 on Dark Lord Day poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized tan colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a hazy no visible carbonation brown colored body. The weak aroma was malty. The thin mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The thin flavor contained notes of malt and sweet. A decent one that I would consider having again.

cloudy orange, wispy head, light caramel aroma, sweet caramel malt flavor with lots of hop bitterness, either the growler is old or this beer is unbalanced and boring
