Brewed in honor of the Tour De France, "Maillot Jaune" or "Yellow Jersey" is a French style Bier De Garde. Very crisp and hoppy, this golden yellow ale is just the ticket for cheering on the amazing athletes who compete in this grueling two week race and the chance to wear the Maillot Jaune.

I spent way too much time at the Livery tent, but at least if I started with the worst of their offerings they were definitely doing something right. Being a cyclist, I have to try something named after the leader of the Tour de France. I might have to stop by the Livery next June to try this again as my notes are very brief.

Aroma / Appearance - Honey, malt, wheat, pears and vanilla were what I was able to detect. The body was a golden pear color.

Flavor / Palate - Oak, pear, lemons, citrus and a light wheat flavor formed a pleasing texture in my mouth. It was extremely smooth and easy to drink. Before I knew it the pour was gone. Unfortunately by the time I thought to ask for more it was past six and noone could pour.

GTMW 2006. The beer pours to a murky yellow body with a thin white head. The beer’s aroma is sweet candi sugar, golden raisins and bananas, cane sugar, light oak. The flavor is sweet sugars, light grains and oak. Nice palate, creamy, lighly tart. Nice texture.

cloudy straw color whispy white head. Aroma has a distinctly saison funk w/ touches of clove & a lighty hop. Palate is pretty average. Flavor is cloves belgian yeasts and a hint of sour & a dry grassy finish. Pretty good.

Draught. Hazy orange body with a white head. The aroma is cookie-ish sweet with some cloves, cereal, and peppery spice. The flavour has cookies, piney hops, and some fruity yeast. Nice.

On tap at brewery: Cloudy golden hue with excellent lacing. The aroma has notes of apricot, star fruit, biscuity malts, yeasty and wheaty esters. The flavor profile starts fruity and has noticeable wheat character. Supported on the tongue by a bit of honeycomb, hop spice, and finished with some grassy bitters. The feel is smooth and quite drinkable. Another solid brew from Steve. (A cask aged dry hopped version due out in August).
