sneagrams3 (1324), St. Louis, Missouri, USA May 11, 2008 Tasted 4/27/08. 6oz samle from the brewpub. Hazy with a golden hue. White layer of head. Melon and apricot fruity aromas. Grainy and crisp. Smooth with a nice yeasty fruity berry chalky undertone. Mild bitterness. Touch alcohol. Solid BdeG style!
Glouglouburp (1852), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jun 6, 2008 In short: A tired Strong Blonde ale of some kind
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Partly cloudy blonde body
In long: Citrusy honey. Some extra-old bananas. Complete lack of crispness the mouthfeel was moshy. Lifeless carbonation. Rather flavourless and lacking a freshness sensation. To the contrary I felt like a was drinking a past-due-date beer that had lost most of its intended flavours. I hope there was something wrong with this batch. A very week effort, this is one Maillot Jaune that is not on steroids. heemer77 (3536), North Liberty, Iowa, USA May 6, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. The body was dark gold with a white head. The aroma was sweaty with some pears and flowers. The taste was funky light bread crust with some sweet pancakes. However, this is overall a little bland. xnoxhatex (748), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 5, 2008 On tap at the brewery. Slight hazy amber with small white head that has a picture of the Americas in it (+1, JK). Yeasty aroma with some spie and caramel. Flavor is earthy/grassy with yeast and spice with medium alc notes, instyle. Medium bodied and well carbonated. Instyle. alexanderj (1186), Roanoke, Virginia, USA May 3, 2008 On tap at The Livery. I was guessing this was the style when sampling, due to the name. Not too familiar with the style. Aroma of bread, miscellaneous fruit, flowers and earth. Flavor was similar with a good amount of musty and herbal elements. Not much hopping as expected. Just ok for me.
