COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This deep red ale is named after one of Steves' favorite mandolin players, Jimmy Gaudreau, who has played with Robin & Linda Williams, Chesapeake, Bennet Auldridge and Gaudreau, and many aother notable bluegrass players. Malt is in the forefront balanced nicely by English Challanger hops.

Glass at the brewpub. Darker brown and opaque. Light head and lacing. Biscuity and hoppy nose. Some nice hops here with malt that is toasty. The malt is rich, too. Not bad at all.

Sample Brewery 2/27/10-Pours a light brown with a small head. Aroma of hops and malt. Taste of citrus, hops, malt, and caramel. This medium bodied brew is nice tasting but IMO not a brown.

Sweetish toffee nose with a touch if herbal and citrus hops. The taste is lightly sweet and lightly bitter with honey and caramel malts, light citrus and a touch of berry.

Bottle shared by Sean, thanks! Poured a hazy red with a gray brown head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was full of malts with bread and grain notes with a slight sweetness. Flavor was slightly bland with some grains and bread but not much else.

Brown pour with ruby highlights, a floral and fruity nose and hints of roasted grain, caramel and toffee. The flavors follow suit pretty true to the aroma, with additional fruit from the American ale yeast.

Draft sample at brewpub. Poured dark amber color with an average white fizzy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Good roasted sweet malty aroma. Medium body. Modertate balanced flavor with a moderate bittersweet finish of average duration. Another good drinkable beer.

Tasted 4/27/08. 6oz Cask conditioned sample from the brewpub. Hazy with a reddish hue. Roasty aromas with notes of caramel and mild esters. Mild and melded. Tart and sugary. Low acidity. Slight effervescence. Caramel and cocoa flavors. Nutty and smooth. Solid brown.

On cask at the brewpub. The body was dark brown with a light khaki head. The aroma was caramel with some black tea. The taste was bready with some peanuts. There was also a light toffee note. A little bland, but not bad.
