heemer77 (3611), Savannah, Missouri, USA May 6, 2008 On cask at the brewpub. The body was dark brown with a light khaki head. The aroma was caramel with some black tea. The taste was bready with some peanuts. There was also a light toffee note. A little bland, but not bad. xnoxhatex (778), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 5, 2008 Handpull at the brewery, Hazy brown amber with a little red tint and small biege head. Aroma is nutty, caramel and there is some slight pine. Flavor has big bittering hops with earthiness, nuttiness and off-dry caramel malt. Medium body and hand pull carbonation (or lack there of). Pretty nice red, but nothing out of the ordinary. BBB63 (3681), La Porte, Indiana, USA Mar 29, 2008 Handpull at brewery: Hazy reddish brown hue with a fading frothy head and spotty lace. The aroma has notes of caramel, toffee, biscuits, apple and pear esters, herbal and floral hops. The taste starts with twangy fruit and sweet malts with a grassy clean finish. Some light hop spice noted as well. The mouth feel is soft and sprite and a surprisingly dry finish. Not too shabby at all and I could drink more than a few of these.
