COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
India Pale Ales, or IPA’s, were brewed for British soldiers stationed in India. These ales needed to higher in alcohol and hoppier than normal to survive the long journey, and ours is no exception. Brewed with Belgian and German malts and dry hopped with loads of Cascades, our version honors our friend who had his own grueling journey involving a boat and cold water!

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a hazy yellow/orange with a touch of dry hop haze. Topped with a sticky snow white head. Aromas of Fruit Stripe gum with loads of tangerine and tropical type fruit. The flavor left a lot to be desired in my opinion. The flavor was very light and even a bit soapy. Very light palate. Started big for not real finish here.

Tap: 4-28-06. Golden with white rocky head that lasts the whole beer, great lacing. Aroma is all c-hop citrus, not much for malt as far as aroma. Flavor is much the same big citrus kick up front with some pine through the middle. Malt shows up a little more, just seems a tad unbalanced.

On tap at the brewery. Hazy copper orange with no head. Nose is lots of grapefruity. The taste is sweet and reminds me of a tart candy that the name has lost me for now. Really this is pretty good stuff.

Draft @ The Livery: Hazy gold color with a medium off-white head. Big fresh hop aroma with floral and piney notes. Big earthy hop flavor. Some peach fruitiness and malty underneath. Medium bodied.

On tap at brewery:

Hazy orangy hue with a tight head and very good lacing. The aroma has notes of grapefruit, apple and light piney esters as well as some caramel and pale malting. The taste is a fresh biting hop quality of Cascade with a citric overtone. It is still nicely balanced and produced a very dry finish, quite tasty IPA. The body is medium and it has a crisp feel, the aftertaste is metallic and astrengent. A nice beer and not over-the-top, I dig it.
