SubstanceT (1087), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA Jun 26, 2006 On tap at the brewery. Hazy copper orange with no head. Nose is lots of grapefruity. The taste is sweet and reminds me of a tart candy that the name has lost me for now. Really this is pretty good stuff. JB175 (1274), Holland, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 29, 2007 Draft @ the brewery and from a growler a day later......Color is a nice, slightly hazy gold-orange with a small-med white head. Aroma is dominated by grapefruit hops with some light floral and malt smells. Flavor is a smooth and tingly with a nice grapefruit hop flavor and a subtle malt finish. Not over the top, but a good summer IPA. Ughsmash (2835), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA May 1, 2008 From a growler at DLD.. I’m going to guess that Mike brought it. Poured clear, medium golden with a nice cap of white head. The aroma picked up sweeter pale malts with rising cat pee bitterness as it breathed.. quite well balanced. The flavor focused on the hop blend (pine, grapefruit, and cat pee) with sufficient pale and caramel malt sweetness to back it up.. finished bitter and quite refreshing. Sweet, spicy, and bitter notes formed a good contrast on the palate with more fragrant spicy notes on the back.. I really liked this. jeffwilliams11 (222), hooterville, Michigan, USA Jun 29, 2008 pours golden amber-ish with small thick head. aroma is all cascade hops, citrusy and grapefruit, with just a hint of pineapple. flavor is more cascades, caramel malts, mildly biscuity. very drinkable and delisious. BBB63 (3681), La Porte, Indiana, USA Sep 27, 2005 On tap at brewery:
Hazy orangy hue with a tight head and very good lacing. The aroma has notes of grapefruit, apple and light piney esters as well as some caramel and pale malting. The taste is a fresh biting hop quality of Cascade with a citric overtone. It is still nicely balanced and produced a very dry finish, quite tasty IPA. The body is medium and it has a crisp feel, the aftertaste is metallic and astrengent. A nice beer and not over-the-top, I dig it.
