FlssmrBrewAlum (1053), Lisle, Illinois, USA Jun 26, 2009 Pours a dark dark amber, well hazed, with small white head that dissipates to a film. Aromas are faint, lightly malty but not much going there. Initial is lightly sweet, throwing some fruity notes, light hoppy bitterness. Apple fruit, light spice make this beer very quaffable overall. Finishes mellow sweetness, near non existant bitterness. Very nice overall. shawnm213 (841), South Bend, Indiana, USA May 9, 2009 ddraft at the brewpub. pours an amber red. smooth and crisp. some herbal english hops. ok Tmoney99 (4649), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Mar 10, 2009 Draft sample at MBG Winterfest 2009.
Pours reddish/brown color with a moderate frothy white head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Medium roasted sweet malty aroma. Medium bodywith a smooth deep texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
My expectations where met.
RAYBOY01 (1812), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 10, 2008 Very dark amber pour. Earth/floral hops upfront with pretty decent sweet caramel/toffee maltiness as a bottom. OK sneagrams3 (1704), St. Louis, Missouri, USA May 13, 2008 Tasted 4/27/08. 6oz sample from the brewpub. Big bubbled. Filtered with an amber ruby hue. Slight nose. So crisp. So smooth. Touch soggy hops. Medium bodied. Good hop profile and very well melded. Mild effervescence. Mild toast. Spicy with a slight smokey character. Totally solid! My second favorite from this brewery. heemer77 (4294), Savannah, Missouri, USA May 6, 2008 From a growler a day after getting one. The body was dark amber and copper . The aroma was earthy with some floral hops. There was also toffee and iced tea. The taste was black tea with some oranges and light potatoes. A pretty good version of a style I don’t usually like. Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA May 4, 2008 Draft at the brewery. Amber/light brown body with small off white head. The hop character was earthy. Dry with little alcohol present. alexanderj (2204), Chino Hills, California, USA May 3, 2008 On tap at The Livery. Amber/reddish color with medium white head. Aroma of malt and grass/earth hops. Biscuit in the flavor. Palate was both a bit watery and dry. Overall it was ok.
