Hazy straw colored pour. Big white, whipped cream like, head. Slowly falls leaving behind a swath of creamy lacing behind. Slight banana pie and malt aroma. Creamy mouthfeel. Malty sweet with faint hints of banana left over. Not bad at all. I had lower hopes.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm) Golden amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of orange, dried apricots and coriander seeds. Slightly vinous. Malty, fruity taste with dried fruit, a solid malt profile and spicy bitterness in a finish with a warming touch of alcohol. Almost full body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty, powerful and well balanced. Nice one.

(Bottled). A beer I was expecting to be unslick and boozy , but its 10 % is nice and relaxing .. its a pretty swillable drink really .I drank this in like 5 minutes . Looks very Belgian in a Chimay goblet .... powerful body shows rich and peppery notes , then fruity orange zest or marmalade , some bubblegum estery texture and kisses of raw alcohol in a warming dry finish.... A charming beer..
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 GBZ59 (101) - BARCELONA (Catalonia), SPAIN - APR 3, 2011
Pours, in an oversized glass, foggy yellowish amber color headed with dense white foam. Smelling is not much spicy neither dark fruits as Belgian Strong used to be,nevertheless gentle aromas are present. Entering is bitter becoming sweeter in your mouth. Alcohol is really present while then & on the aftertaste too. Well balanced in all senses. Drinkability is ok, suprising thick body for a blond one. A real Blond barley Wine.
