Aroma reminds me of a Saison. The main difference is the noticeable alcohol. Aroma is spicy, yeasty and fruity (apple). Cloudy, yellow coloured with a short, lasting, white head. Taste is yeasty, malty, fruity, bitter and sweet. Sticky and alcoholic. IMO this beer could be better with less alcohol.

Cloudy golden color, short lasting white head. Aroma is grainy, spicy, bit alcoholic, some green apple. Taste is grainy and malty, sweet, duvel-like. Dry and sticky palate.

Fine warm-golden color with good head. This beer has aroma’s off honeypops, malts and orangezest. It has also a warm smell off alcohol. The taste is sweet and round with a good bitterness off the hops.Nice beer, but a little too alcoholic for my taste.

Rich and hot mouthfeel, dominated by alcohol, yeast and caramel...Fluffy orange zest and peaches contribute to the vague fruitiness found in the sweet malt...A countryish feel can be found in its lack of flavor organization yet there’s an ostentatiousness to it, probably to its alcoholic girth...If you are an unconditional Belgian Strong Ale lover like I am, you will still enjoy this quite a bit, although it is certainly not near world-class...

Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy dark yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately malty (bread, cookie), lightly hoppy (herbs), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with a note of alcohol. Flavor is heavily sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, heavily alcoholic.

Creamy head, honey color. Malty aroma with a hint of honey. Malty flavor, hops are present, but the alcohol dominates. Just a hint of licorice. Maybe a bit sharp, there is some resemblance to a Kapittel Abt. I like this beer!

fiulijn (14552) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 4, 2003
Cloudy orange color; giant creamy head. Dry, Tripel aroma; pine needels. Well structured, quite malty, some cork; strongly bitter, far over the average. Traditional, good one; my favorite by Van Eecke.

Light lemon and orange aroma. Golden color, large white head, good lace. Bitter, sparkling, hoppy, orange, lemon. Sweet and round finish with the alcohol well present.

lots of bits of renovations in the bottle. smells of the wonderful game of cricket. orange peel. smooth enough. better than lingens blond and not as embarrassing to order

Gets maximum appearance points for the coolest label ever, featuring some confused looking 85 year old man with a moustache and top hat. Beer-wise it’s orange-tan colour with huge amounts of nice chewy organisms swimming around in it. strong, doughy, orange peel aromas. quite thick on roof of mouth - peanutbutterish. smooth and a bit salty, and you don’t really notice the alcohol until after you finish and you try to stand up.
