Cask conditioned handpump Wig & Pen Northampton 28/06/12. A golden beer with a whitish head and lacing. A bog standard bittersweet aroma. A big body. A little lemon and a creamy feel. A tad warm. Quite ordinary.

Cask, The Salmon, Leicester. Amber gold with a thin head. Aromas are caramel and lemon tea with green apple. Some spicy, floral and herbal notes with hints of damp cardboard. Flavours are sweet pear with dry tea and a gentle bittersweet lemon bite. Peppery on the palate with spritzy yeast. A bit of a muddle. OK.

500ml bottle (bottle conditioned), courtesy harrisoni. Best before June 2009. Murky orange dolour. Not a lot of head or condition. A fairly standard premium bitter with emphasis on fruity malt. Enough earthy hop to provide some balance. Respectable.

Bottle 50cl. @ [ Chris O’s pre NYE Tasting ]. Unclear light to medium amber color with virtually none appearance, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate roasted, caramel, sour, chlorine. Flavor is moderate sweet and vinegar - sour milk with a average duration. Bad IMO. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat.
