COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A light amber cold fermented lager with moderate hop aroma and flavour with a bitter finish. Brewed at Lobethal Bierhaus using the finest available malted barley, a blend of carefully chosen hops and Bohemian pilsner yeasts, this lager style (meaning “to store” due to extended maturation) is based on the famous pilsners brewed in the Czech Republic.

330ml bottle. Clear straw yellow pour with small but persistent white head. Sweet honey malt grains on the nose with a touch of lemony citrus. Taste is too sweet to be a genuine Bohemian Pilsner lacking the dry hop bitterness I associate with this style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330 ML bottle Bottled August 2012 Golden straw color, bright white head, some streaky lacing. Nose is of toasted bread and grassy, citrus hops. Pretty simple really. Taste is pretty similar to the above. More hop bite in front and back than what expected. Pretty much bread followed by some grassy and citrus hops. or the other way around in the back. Clean and crisp. Good carbonation and body to this. Not really exciting ut a decently made beer.

From a 330ml bottle on 20/2/2012 (Batch No. BP020, bottled Dec 2011). Pours a slightly cloudy light golden with a biggish head. Has a moderate grassy, fruity, slightly floral aroma. Flavour wise, it has a lovely fruity flavour (green apple and apricot), a dash of doughy yeast, and a nice sharp hop finish. This is a very good, tasty pilsener, and I’m surprised by the modest scores it’s received on here so far. Not sure why its called ’Philsner’.

330ml bottle. A good solid amber colour with an even level layer of white foam. Strong to moderate hop aroma and a good strong body with mild bitterness that leads to a dryness on the palate. Sweet malty flavour.

Drank on tap at the brewhouse. Poured nice honey gondenrod with little to no head with mild carbonation. The beer produced a pleasant and refreshing floral hop notes with an underlying herbal aroma. Whilst unremarkable it was pleasent to drink on a warm Autumnal afternoon.

Bottle. Cloudy amber with a white head. Aroma of bread, hay, earth and spices. Czech weight malt is sweet and bready, solid bitter finish. Rustic. Not bad at all.

Good, pour is murky brown with white head and spicy hop aroma. Flavour is initial tropical fruits and finishes with a light hoppiness. Reminds me of homebrew style pilsener, which is not a bad thing, but would expect a bit more polish.

Bottle exploded with fizz onto the floor. Not a good start but recovered with a reddish malti pils flavour which was very good. Need to try agains.
