COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An intensely hopped, golden-copper ale with floral aroma, fruity ester flavours and a crisp dry finish. This style was originally designed by British brewers in the late 19th Century to survive the long voyage to India where it quenched the thirst of campaigning troops.

Floral hop aroma. Clear amber brown colour with thick creamy head. Rich malty flavour, bitter coffee and a smooth finish. Medium to heavy body with low to medium carbonation.

Draught at Adelaide Casino. Clear deep golden beer with a small white head. Nose and palate of orangey caramel malt sweetness balanced by a satisfactory resinous dry hop bitterness. Medium bodied with oily mouthfeel. A decent drop.

Solid but nothing amazing. Fresh fruit driven nose. Quite grassy taste. Light bitterness. Not as hoppy as I like them but not too shabby ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bought at Lobethal. 5.9% ABV Darker orange amber color. Slightly hazy looking. Thin off white head with some good lacing though. Good caramel backbone and a nice enough nose of fresh orange with splashes of lemon and grapefruit. Slightly earthy and very English. Not that it is bad. Slightly thin and watery. Bits of orange, caramel, bread and lemon. Kind of bland and lifeless in the mouth. Some fresh orange and lemon peel but a medium body and light almost lifeless carbonation and body. Dry finish. Lifeless beer and dull really

330mL bottle bought online from the brewery although the bottle reads 5.9% abv not 4.8. Pours deep amber slightly cloudy with a small head and a sweet tropical fruit aroma and good carbonation. The bitterness is good and its well balanced with a resinous finish, decent IPA.

Bottle. Clear red-amber body with an average sized off-white head. Aroma taste-nutty, ryebread, herbal hops with a mouthfilling subdued bitter finish. Medium bodied with modest carbonation.

A big messy gusher. Got about half a bottle. Nose is apricot and a little citrus. Maybe a little spice. Reasonably full bodied with a hit of toffee/biscuit coated by a fairly non descript slightly citric finish. Solid beer that shows these guys have the chops but could be subbed by any number of beers on the Australian market today. Loses a point for poor bottling practices as well.

Bottle 330ml. Great beer. Aromas of cherries, caramel, and pine. Taste starts sweet, with a lingering bitter finish. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Amber, with a frothy head.

330mL. Brewed in July 2010. Uhhh. Pour is clear amber English tea with a creamy, off-white head leaving decent lace. Aroma of floral hops, caramel, dried tropical fruits. Taste is sweaty, bitter, biting, drying, soapy, walnut skin bitterness. Bitter, chalky, dry palate. Slight alcohol shows through. Pretty poor showing for IPA. Wonder what it was like fresher.

Big red malty looking colour and blistering malty grip. Have not had a bad beer yet from Lobethal.
