3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours bright clear amber with a creamy beige head that lasts for ages. Aroma is mainly of malt with hints of caramel and honey. Flavour is pretty similar: malt, caramel, butter and a little bit of hops, lending some floral notes and some slight bitterness. Medium body, smooth and creamy mouthfeel, this is pretty mild for an IPA, with a very slight hop presence, but is still nice drinking.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Quite a nice looking beer, copper brown with a nice white head that lingers. Aroma is nice and grassy with a hint of light toffee. Flavour is quite restrained, there is toffee malts upfront that finish with nice noticable but balanced bitterness. Quite enjoyable.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. A hazy amber with a large pillowy head. A rich fruit malt aroma, with a touch of spice. A nutty malt palate, fruity, hoppy - delicious.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
clear amber with nice creamy head that sticks. typical english smell of goldings and toffee, not very intense but nice. lacking any fruit or yeast though. in the mouth some warm and pleasant malt and a muted goldings/fuggles sort of tobaccoey/floral bitterness that is certainly on the balanced rather than the exciting side of things. reminds me of brooklyn IPA - an IPA for people who don’t like IPAs. i agree with muggus about this one - good for an aussie micro english ale but way too timid in abv and IBUs to be a contender. still waiting for an australian brewery to try an IPA that is straight ahead bitter and dry rather than making the hops wade through specialty malts to get to the finish line every time.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
330ml bottle, Bottled May 2008. Hazy copper body, creamy offwhite head. Mildy fruity aroma, some leafy and earthy hop character, perfumy at times, slightly vegetably too, with some grainy toffee malt sweetness coming through. Carbonation is quite low, body seems lean for an IPA, not a great amount of length, drying out quite quickly. Grainy malt body with subdued British hop character, slightly grassy, bit of citrus, finishing reasonably bitter with a slightly skunky bread note. Not too sure about this one; gives most Aussie-made British style ales a good run for their money, but not enough oompf to be an IPA.
