A Dark red-brown ale characterized by roasted malt flavour, balances with subtle hop aroma and bitterness. This ale is based on a style originally developed in the 18th Century London, acquiring its name from the city porters who had taken a fancy to it.

Decent porter, nice choccy malt finish. No hops to speak of, but I don’t miss them. On hand-pump at the Wheaty.

Bottle @ America Strikes Back, Ulfborg. Pours slightly hazy dark ruby with airy but stable light tan head. Clear aroma of malt and fruit, with notes of hops. Sourish, fruity flavour, with notes of malt and lozenges. Irregular hoppy notes. High carbonation. Bitter and sourish aftertaste. Not much of a Porter but drinkable.

(bottle) Very dark brown with thin tan head. Pleasant subtle roasted malt aroma. Medium to full bodied with good carbonation. Pleasant quite complex foretaste - dark malts, dark chocolate, candy - shifting through some slightly metallic notes to some reasonable bitterness in a rich long finish. Overall a very nice porter - not my favourite beer style, but I enjoyed this.
