3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Deep brown in colour with a lasting frothy brown head. Chocolate, prune and citrus fruit aroma, notes of yeast. Chocolate and nutty flavours with notes of smokiness, very creamy mouthfeel and a very smooth finish. Thanks for the suggestion OKBeer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
50cl bottle to weizen glass.
Appearance: Transparent red color with an off white mocha head.
Aroma: Biscuit, cookies, crackers, a bit of caramel/brown sugar. Some spicyness and dark fruit but not much. Slight sour element.
Taste: Sweet biscuit, some slight sour rye bready flavours, elements of dark chocolate. Definitely sweeter than I expected.
Palate: Well rounded, good body though carbonation is on the low side I think.
Overall: Pretty nice beer. Didn’t expect the world but it actually is quite nice.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled. Labelled as "Baron Tmavý ležák", ABV 4,7%. Interesting dark lager (dunkel?) with some fruity notes - which I haven’t seen by Czech dunkels so far - so I have to admit one of the most interesting maybe the most interesting beer from my local supermarket (Norma). I’ll definitely drink this one again.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
caramel, bread, grass, raisin, red, brown, clear, minimal head, tan foam, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour, light body, slick feel, soft carbonation, bitter
Dark ruby pour with tan head. Foam disappears quickly. Biscuity sweet aroma with light grassy hop. Caramel sweet with hints of sourness. No real bitterness. Carbonation is very light. Thin, watery body with a slick mouthfeel. Finish is quite sweet with no bitter aftertaste. A very nice beer if you’re not expecting bitterness. I like it.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 ml bottle. Thanks to Oakes for sending me this one. My first beer of this style. Dark brown colour with a nice tan head. Head reduced to a thin layer after a couple minutes but stayed for the rest of the beer. Malt and nuts in the aroma of this one. The flavour was sweet with some hops in the finish. Good mouth feel. Unfortuniately this is another beer that I will have to go on a long road trip to enjoy again.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Smooth to drink, but the smell is of burnt caramel. Color very nice, deep red. Virtually no head or carbonation. Initial flavor is the burnt caramel, but smooths in time. Lingering flavor that is very nice on the tongue.
Not a good heavy drinking beer but interesting for a change. Probably won’t buy again.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
A fair dark lager, but not exceptional. Pretty clear brown color. Thick head, which thins out before long but never really goes away. Aroma and flavor are fairly generic: moderately hoppy, with a nice hint of dark chocolate in the taste. Something irritates me about the aroma, but I can’t identify it clearly: an odd sort of metallic quality, as if it were from a can instead of a bottle. Finish is on the bitter side, with no warmth.

Rundes Bier
