COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep, dark color - hints of chocolate and coffee on the nose, and a full, rich satisfying long finish, make this the perfect beer for hearty dishes; stews; chilis, wild game gumbo and other full flavored, hearty dishes. It is made with the four classic ingredients: barley, American hops, yeast, and pure Texas Hill Country water. It is a celebration of beer the way it was made 100 years ago.

thanks to crajun for the trade! Pours a deep cola brown with a minimal mocha head. Sweet malty aroma. The flavor is malty with a touch of roast malt flavor. Nice long smooth finish. Medium body. Bet this is super when its fresh on draft.

Not sure why I keep thinking one day I will find a really good black lager, but I still buy them just to try. This one aint it. While it smelled promising it missed it once again with that weak watered down lager body. While I know black lagers are the "IN" thing right now it is just not something I can get in to. Add a few more malts to it and some ale yeast and make a really good porter or stout out of it and then I will be all over it.

Appologies to those who rated this beer lower but this is a real surprise. Mouthfeel is unsurpassed & etherially smooth dark malts sing a symphony on my palette. Who would have thunk such a complex satisfying beer could come out of the real heart of Texas? How could ANY beer this tasty come in at only 5.5%? Whoever brewed this is the real thing and I would be honored for you to pour Lobo Negro at my funeral. Thank you for this moment. Bob Brewer

Pours a cola colored with a thick tan head. aroma is a lot of chocolate, caramel, very sweet, and very nutty. Taste is rather complex, you taste the chocolate, dark roasted malts.

12oz bottle, courtesy of Bytemesis, really qutie surprised at this one, thought it would be a ho hum stout (shows how much I pay attention to bottles) and instead I got a delightful dunkel, rich is a good way to describe it, a touch sweet perhaps too.. but really well balanced and crisp too.. good stuff.
