Appologies to those who rated this beer lower but this is a real surprise. Mouthfeel is unsurpassed & etherially smooth dark malts sing a symphony on my palette. Who would have thunk such a complex satisfying beer could come out of the real heart of Texas? How could ANY beer this tasty come in at only 5.5%? Whoever brewed this is the real thing and I would be honored for you to pour Lobo Negro at my funeral. Thank you for this moment. Bob Brewer

Pours a cola colored with a thick tan head. aroma is a lot of chocolate, caramel, very sweet, and very nutty. Taste is rather complex, you taste the chocolate, dark roasted malts.

I’m not big on black lagers, but this is the first one that I absolutely love. Full of flavors. Very smooth. A must try.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle, courtesy of Bytemesis, really qutie surprised at this one, thought it would be a ho hum stout (shows how much I pay attention to bottles) and instead I got a delightful dunkel, rich is a good way to describe it, a touch sweet perhaps too.. but really well balanced and crisp too.. good stuff.

Central market bottle. Dark brown pour with orange highlights and a thin tan head. Aroma is roasted malt plus a little coffee. Flavor is a little muted with some chocolate and malt appearing in the finish. Fine overall.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tick thanks to angrypiratepants06. Pours with a near black deep brown hued body and a lasting tan head with good lace. Aromas are of very dry roast, lightly nutty, raw grain, herbal, saw dust, lightly spicy hop. A touch of leather. Seems more schwarz than dunkel, but the brewery insist it is a traditional dunkel on their website. Flavors are of acetaldehyde, caramel, raw wort, peanuts shells, nutty roast, a bit of smoke. Slightly rough fermentation. Slightly sweet finish. Fuller bodied, fuller carbonation. Drinkable, but not my favorite thing ever.
