djsun2599 (12), Ferndale, Michigan, USA Oct 3, 2001 My uncle was a manager at Local Color when they first opened. He brought home at least 20 cases of the test bottling. 20 cases of decent micro-brew beer for free! You gotta be a fan after that. Supposedly Local Color has the most state of the art, computer based brewing system in the world. Acutally their wheat beer is one of the best I’ve ever had! No kidding. I hope they bottle it someday. Peace!
Pailhead (2339), Allen Park, Michigan, USA May 24, 2005 Bottle: Weak aroma is lightly sweet with a mild hop balance. Pours a light transparent yellow with virtually no head. Euro-lager flavor from start to finish with a little more sweetness coming in the start and a light hoppiness in the finish. Aftertaste is a short-lived sweetness. Your average pilsner, and just another example of how this style just does not work for me. Dogfish120 (140), Jackson, Michigan, USA Mar 8, 2005 A very average pilsner, had on tap before the brewery closed.....not bad, but not much more i can say SuIIy (1117), W Newton, Massachusetts, USA Feb 28, 2005 smoothtalker...huh...i can think of one thing wrong with that...the smooth part...cause it sure isnt smooth....tough to swallow Cartoonkhaki (1123), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Jan 31, 2005 Cloudy golden colour off white head... dry grassy aroma.. Something sweet is hanging in there like candy... cheap chocolate.. Dry bitter somewhat asringent... thehoff (523), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA Nov 12, 2004 This was the Novi Pilsner. Quite cloudy, thick white head. Smells quite a lot like a piece of wood, or straw. not too bad. A little bit more flavor than a pilsener usually has. Slight bitterness. OK. Kind of creamy.
