COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dampf Loc is an all-barley warm fermented ale inspired by “Dampfbier” originally crafted by medieval peasant inhabitants of the Bavarian Forest. A modern interpretation of its Teutonic predecessor, this “Hefe Gerste” is true to its roots; unmistakable in character and accessible to beer drinkers of all palates.

Dampf Loc has a mild hop profile, medium body and a clear, rich, orange hue.

Bottle:   Orangish straw, hazy, moderate sudsy white head, little lacing.   Faint apple/pear skin like fruitiness on the nose.   Pale breadiness, soft sweet pale fruit like the nose suggested.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Clean finish, but a little boring.   Just seems to be some pale breadiness with faint fruitiness.   Too soft overall.

500ml bottle (shared by FatPhil, thanks). Clear dark amber color. Almost no head. Having difficulties to describe that beer. Almost nothing sticks out to give it dominant aroma or taste. If anything is detectable then bit on hazelnut in taste. But still very drinkable beer.

Bottled@wPBFIII. Deep golden colour, small white head. Aroma is caramel, some floral and fruity notes along with mild wood as well. Flavour is fruity, wood, mild earthy and floral notes. Rich carbonation, but otherwise a nice brew.

500ml bottle (BierKompass.de)
Fairly subdued aroma, some grains, touch of sweet nuts/seeds from the muesli we eat - not quite pine nuts. Mid orange. Plenty of grains in the body, a pleasant almost smoky huskiness. Body is quite thin, and carbonation is high. Quite characterful, not quirky, but definitely interesting. Finish has a very nice bitter tingle (certainly not "mild"), some grassy herbal aspects. Easy to drink. Improves with a bit of the crud in. Even though it’s not so exciting, it presses a lot of buttons, and could be a tasty session beer.

Ernest (6353) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 11, 2014
Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is light to medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (grain, caramel), with notes of apple, bile, spoiling fruit, celery, gum. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter, unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Wow...zero for three from this pseudo-brewery. Mind you all three (this, Voku Hila, and Blood of Kings) were brewed by Pub Dog but still...all three were truly horrible, to the point of being head-scratching. What on earth were/are they thinking? Do they just love spoiled fruit notes? I don’t get it. Drain pour.

Taste is malty and sweet with caramel, fruit, grassy notes, light nuttiness, light earthiness and faint floral notes. Body is medium and slightly chewy with a soft, creamy carbonation. Finishes with more caramel, sweet malt notes, toasted dark bread, fruit, light herbal notes, earthy hops, floral notes and light nuttiness.

Great surprise. I was not able to know what to expect from the bottle, but it turns out this took me into a new style, an older day. Dark mahogany chroma, with a bright, even golden hue. 26/30.
