3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from csteele2144. An amber with a twist. Amber colored with a small beige head. Smells of toasted malt, coffee, caramel, and just a little wood. Medium-bodied with flavors of toasty caramel, coffee, nuts, wood, and earthy hops in the finish. Some pretty nice depth as shown by some citrus deep in the background. The wood is more subtle than I expected but it mixes in and lingers. Soft carbonation. Interesting beer; a coffee ale without the creamy aspects. I didn’t love this but it was pretty fun to try. Certainly better than your run-of-the-mill Amber Ale.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a deep dark brown with tons of yeast at the bottom. Smells sharply of coffee...sweet coffee, light roast. But it almost has a little bit of tropical flavor on it underneath the coffee...in a good way. This is strong on the coffee but surprisingly light. Nicely done.

Medium to full bodied with a mildly sweet and lightly bitter coffee, woody finish. I enjoyed the sample I had of this.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Amber coloured beer with a light tan fast fading wee head. Noses strongly of sugared coffee with a big splash of milk with tiny faint notes of wood/oak. Tastes rather sweet, lightly full bodied with a slick bit velvet texture. The finish is medium thick and slick lasting for a while showing sweet taste notes. Not unpleasant - a beer which can cause discussions. I like it!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a bright and slightly hazy amber with a full, bubbly, quickly fading head. Aroma has coffee, smoke, earthy malts, caramel, and some hints of vanilla. I find that the smokiness stands out above the other impressions. The taste is heavier on vanilla with a healthy mixture of coffee. I get some minor caramel as well, along with mild smoke. The aftertaste is vanilla and coffee, and while it isn’t to potent, does linger on your palate for awhile. Medium bodied, with a rather smooth texture, and containing softer carbonation. I like this one. I suppose that if you like coffee and vanilla, you should enjoy this as well.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., and snifter served showing a clear, deep copper hue, a modest amount of bubbly, off white, rapidly diminishing head foam, and light lacing. The nose was expressively roasted coffee & cocoa notes, caramel, and subtle hints of nuts & wood. Only a touch of the coffee made the transition to the taste, which presented a medium body, lively carbonation, moderate, earthy hop bitterness, with light oak, a bit of tanniny astringency, decent malt content, some light, estery sweetness, and a pleasant alcohol presence. Kind of two separate stages to this brew, but presentably flavorful nonetheless.
