Vokuhila is a strong lager brewed by Local Option Bierwerker. This Helles Bock is golden in color with a large, creamy, persistent white head; aromatically driven by robust toast and bread notes derived from continental European pale malts with moderate spice from noble German hops. Vokulhila will be appreciated by lager and mullet enthusiasts alike worldwide.

500, capped. Pours a cloudy medium amber with a loose white film. Mild dry nutty, bread-crusty nose. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Nutty dry mid palate with a long dry finish. Very arid beer. Driest bock in memory for me. Almost champagne-like.

This is an awesome heller bock, malty and bitter all at the some time. Slightly cloudy, amber in color, a definite pungent citrus undertone lays the way way to my heart.

Deep orange colored bottle pour. Comes out with a creamy head. An interesting lager - creamy on the mouthfeel. Comes across as almost a strong english ale. Floral and bready. Not bad at all.

I have consumed this a couple times while I lived in Chicago the past year. Finally bought a 500mL just to rate it at the very end of my time. Generally, this beer has an acceptable level of sulpheric aroma and herbal lager. Flavor is strong white malt with similar herbal and sulphur finish. Its a light too thick in flavor, not light and bright as I would like. However, I am not disappointed when I drink this.

500ml bottle. Filtered-looking orange body, but a little haze so who knows. Steady, solid, creamy off-white head. Bready, mild aroma, some earthy noble hop. A pretty tasty Heller Bock. Comes off a little fruitier, in an ale way, than I’d expect from the style. Still has quite a nice amount depth. More boldly hopped than most European examples. I’m a sucker for interesting German styles and variations, so this works for me.

This pours a golden amber color with an average head. The aroma is mild with hops and yeast. The taste is unique and not what I was expecting. Certainly there is room for improvement but this is fairly decent and worth a try.

Gotta give it props for how it looks in the glass. Deeper gold color than a "regular" beer, lots of bubbles feeding frothy head. Like a Schlitz gone native. I’m enjoying this on the patio where the neighbor has just cut his grass, so that may be what I’m catching most of in the nose. But then there’s a pretty rich German malt underneath. taste is full of biscuity, well-turned, but still lightly kilned malt. Alcohol is pretty up front, and may even be a distraction. Hop bitterness is largely there to counteract malts, like a well-behaved German noble hop would. Though I think Local Option only pays lip service to meeting style guidelines, this is indeed a "bright" bock that others could learn a thing or two from.

Golden pour, smooth, bready, well bodied, frothy, somewhat dry, balanced, sweet.

Pours a cloudy orange-gold with a thicker eggshell head that leaves some soapy, spotty lace. Nose involves sweet malt, hop spice, cellar character, with light peach and citrus tones. Quite sweet, fairly bitter. Medium to full bodied, fairly oily, active, with fair spicy hop bitter finish. Good stronger lager.

Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. This is a hazy golden coloured beer with tart citrus and toffee flavours, peppery hop notes and a spicy lemon fruity finish.

On tap at Dutch’s. Mildly hazy golden orange color. Thin off-white head, theta leaves good thicker lace. Medium-plus body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Light slick finish. Good full feel to it. Nice big bready toasty malt, some good lightly spicy and herbal hops, hint of orange. Moderate sweet taste, very light bitterness. Pretty solid, hearty helles bock.
