Vokuhila is a strong lager developed and brewed by Local Option Bierwerker. This maibock is golden in color with a large, creamy, persistent white head; aromatically driven by robust toast and bread notes derived from continental European pale malts with moderate spice from noble German hops. Vokulhila will be appreciated by lager and mullet enthusiasts alike worldwide.

500, capped. Pours a cloudy medium amber with a loose white film. Mild dry nutty, bread-crusty nose. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Nutty dry mid palate with a long dry finish. Very arid beer. Driest bock in memory for me. Almost champagne-like.

From a bottle poured in a chalice. Bland slightly bready beer-like aroma. thick head. Flavor has fairly strong initial hop hit for a lager - Bavarian in nature. More sweet and nutty finish. Light body. Interesting. Not quite what I was expecting. Not bad, but not great.

@ Vino Belissimo / Lima OH --- Cloudy bright dirty orange color, ivory head that drops quickly to a cover, nice bands of lace. Taste and aroma are Beligian Ale: yeasty malt with biscuit and wildflower notes moves with light spicing through the palate to a mildly bittered, carbonated finish. Very smooth and inviting, just enough alcohol to warm things a little at the end. Best for sipping. Good stuff.

[Tap] Clear deep golden color with about a half inch of foamy head. Caramel and grains in the nose. Floral hops, sticky brown sugar and dough in the taste. Good body and mouthfeel. OK overall.

Bottle enjoyed on an evening out in Bristol. Pours a hazy golden colour with a just off white head. Aroma of grain, caramel with citrus notes. Medium bodied, slightly oily texture. Average carbonation.

16.9 oz bottle poured into a chalice. Pours and smells much like a Belgian Ale - starts with a yeasty aroma accompanied by banana and clove. After some time, the yeast is replaced by a toasted bread aroma with a mellow wood note, and a lemon cleanser-type aroma. I also picked up on some peach in there too. It pours a rocky-looking small bubble head atop a sparkling, clear yellow-orange color which turns more hazy by the end of the bottle. The head retains quite well, and it leaves a moderate amount of lace along the glass. The taste is a combination of medium sweet with a medium-light bitter; again, very Belgian-esque. The medium bodied beer is creamy with a highly active, lightly prickly carbonation resulting in a very crisp, and refreshing drink. The mouth starts with a caramel malt and peach sweetness, and if finishes with a mild, but complex combination of toasted grain (maybe some rye?), pine, grapefruit, and an ever-so-light resin. The resin lingers awhile leaving the aftertaste dry, but relatively clean.

Big caramel and toasted malt up front with toffee, light fruit, dark bread, grains, faint grass and sweet tea in the background. Body is medium and slightly chewy with a moderate carbonation. Tasted on tap at Green Street Smoked Meats. Excellent representation of hellesbock/maibock style. Big toast malt, bready, grassy and floral hop presence. Extremely drinkable. For an unfiltered mai/helles it looks incredibly clear. This beer won me over on the style.
