Vokuhila is a strong pale lager. This helles bock is golden in color with a large, creamy, persistent white head; aromatically driven by robust toast and bread notes derived from continental European pale malts with moderate spice from noble German hops. Vokulhila will be appreciated by lager and mullet enthusiasts alike.

500, capped. Pours a cloudy medium amber with a loose white film. Mild dry nutty, bread-crusty nose. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Nutty dry mid palate with a long dry finish. Very arid beer. Driest bock in memory for me. Almost champagne-like.

Pours clear reddish gold with small head. Aroma is sweet malt and a distinctive note of European hops. Taste is sweet followed by bitter. A nice spiciness on the palate. Medium bodied. Alcohol nicely hidden. I actually like this pretty well.

Bottle. Pours in crystal clear pale body with pretty high, long lasting, frosty head. Aroma is malty, grainy, hay, little bit vegetable, not too much, but hints of it. Taste has high syrupy malty sweetness with low to medium noble bitterness, long lasting. Pretty sweet, little bit too sweet. Body is full, heavy, medium carbonation.

Hazy dark golden color with a fine off white head. Ok lacing. Malty and a bit herbal aroma. Medium (+) body. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Malty, some toffee and herbal flavor. Decent ok beer. But probably nothing I will drink again. Cool label. Probably the reason I bought it.

bottle. cloudy, unfiltered, gold with a large, frothy white head. sweet wheaty, grainy aroma, grassy hops, toffee, peanuts. flavor has notes of un-roasted nuts, butter, toffee, fresh grassy hops. some spicy and floral aspects to the hop as well. creamy body, nice moderately low carbo level. i could throw a few of these back.

Pour is dark golden amber with lots of white head and some larger bubbles with a fair bit of lace. Nose is heavily malted and a bit stale, lots of caramel malts, overly toasted, lots of sugar. Taste follows suit, a little less stale, way too much sugar, lots of caramel malts and toasted grains, very little hop profile and no clean grains. Syrupy feel, soft carb, too big and full.

(draft @ Local Option - Chicago, IL) Clear orange with a frothy white head. Light aroma of sweet malts and some toasted nuts as well. Flavor is light but sweet at the same time. Good malt flavor and a lightly sweet aftertaste.

Pours orange-amber with a thin head. Bready and spicy with a touch of yeast and a faint sourness.

Bottled. The aroma has strong grassy hops/hay, some caramel and biscuits. Bit hazy, copper coloured beer with a medium, off-white head. The taste is light-moderate bitter, has bread/biscuit, some caramel malts, grassy hops, some spicy tones. Light-medium bodied. Could probably be a bit more easy drinking. But nevertheless, a nice beer.

10 ounce pour - $6.50 at Argosy in Atlanta, Georgia.

Appearance: An orangesque body with a slight haze to it, capped by a slim, white coating.

Smell: Lightly sweet-scented, bready malts given a little hint of orange marmalade and an edge of spicy herb.

Taste: Bready maltiness, hinting a little mealy, grainy quality and sweetness akin to a small pour of simple syrup. A light fruitiness (curiously orangesque like its appearance), a little hop spiciness. Minor alcohol. Subtle sustained graininess through to the semi-dry finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Decent, drinkable fare.

Bottle. Pours hazy orange with white head. Aroma is grainy, cereal, lots of wheat, floral, a bit musty. Taste is very musty, sweet fruits, trpical, earthy, dirt. Overall, no good.
