COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Vokuhila is a strong lager brewed by Local Option Bierwerker. This Helles Bock is golden in color with a large, creamy, persistent white head; aromatically driven by robust toast and bread notes derived from continental European pale malts with moderate spice from noble German hops. Vokulhila will be appreciated by lager and mullet enthusiasts alike worldwide.

500, capped. Pours a cloudy medium amber with a loose white film. Mild dry nutty, bread-crusty nose. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Nutty dry mid palate with a long dry finish. Very arid beer. Driest bock in memory for me. Almost champagne-like.

500 ml bottle purchased at Carl’s Meat Market. Clear gold color with an amber type hue in a mug. Fast dying head on a vigorous pour. The aroma is corn stalks, grain and traces of lager yeast. It has an overall malt sweetness that also displays the light corn husk and lager yeast in the finish of the brew. Very mild bitterness after the sip.

I paid $6.49 USD for this bottle. For the style it is a nicely made brew but I guess I was hoping for a bolder, darker bock. Actually I doubt I will ever remember this.

pours hazy light golden with a tall and creamy abnormal off-white head offering good retention and sticky lacing. spicy very fruity berries - lightly sour-ish, bready and almost doughy toasted maltiness - very nice tasty fruitiness in fact, woodsiness, light carbonic acid, bittering grassy-peppery - some nobleness, hint of sweetness - honey. lively-foamy that settles into an average carbonation, light body, balanced spicy-grassy finish. interesting. like the rest of their offerings.

Leicht hopfiger, hell malziger Beginn. Hell würzig, minimaler Alkohol, etwas steigender Hopfen. Mittelstarke, sich gut einfügende Süße, Holznoten. Vollmundiger Nachgeschmack mit süßlichen Fruchtnoten, weichem bitteren Hopfen und hellmalzigen Holznoten. 10/12/11/12/8/12

"bright golden yellow. aroma well balanced between toasted bready malts and noble hops. ditto for the flavor. mouth is smooth and medium to full bodied. I dig the style, and this is a good example. surprised it’s a 66/88 on RB and not noticeably higher."

Bottle 500ml. Pours golden with very high white head. Good lacing. Aroma is of perfume, fruits. Taste is of perfume, fruits, yeast (very yeasty for a lager). Palate: Medium body. Medium-high carbonation. Overall: Good. Fruity. Very tasty.

It poured a hazy golden/orange color with a white head. The aroma was of citrus, some corn and toasted malts. The taste was metallic, grainy and of spicy herbal hoppiness. Decent.

This is an awesome heller bock, malty and bitter all at the some time. Slightly cloudy, amber in color, a definite pungent citrus undertone lays the way way to my heart.

Deep orange colored bottle pour. Comes out with a creamy head. An interesting lager - creamy on the mouthfeel. Comes across as almost a strong english ale. Floral and bready. Not bad at all.

I have consumed this a couple times while I lived in Chicago the past year. Finally bought a 500mL just to rate it at the very end of my time. Generally, this beer has an acceptable level of sulpheric aroma and herbal lager. Flavor is strong white malt with similar herbal and sulphur finish. Its a light too thick in flavor, not light and bright as I would like. However, I am not disappointed when I drink this.
