500ml bottle at home, bought at Oak Tree Inn - Balmaha (£2.99):
Not a bad effort from the Loch Lomond brewery in the end, I didn’t think this one started particularly well but it started to grow on me as I worked my way down the glass. I doubt it’s one that will leave a lasting impression but it was enjoyable enough despite the fact I’m still not sure it is actually supposed to be a brown ale or not; I’ll list it as that anyway though.

On cask @ the Standing Order. Appearance - deep amber to chestnut. Nice fluffy head. Nose - toffee with just a sniff of stewed prunes. Taste - i was right. Stewed prunes on the taste too. Toffee in the background. Palate - close to medium bodied with a rich and sweet but tangy texture and a balanced sweet finish. Overall - nice beer.

Sampled at esbls. Dingy dirty brown with a small blotchy off white layer. A sweet fruit nose. This is a brown? Fruit is in front with grain. Hops are light but do add some bitterness. A bit of spiciness. Interesting and different.
