Cask gravity at Pigs Ear 2013. It pours amber with a medium beige head. The nose is ripe, earth, wood, dirt and earth. The taste is earth, toast, wood, light bitterness, must, dust and orange peel with a dry, earthy finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Decent enough bitter.

500ml bottle at home. Pours clear amber with no head. Cask-style carbonation. Aromas of cereal and toffee. Taste is sweet with the merest tickle of hop bitterness. Quite thin, sweet finish.

Cask conditioned at York Beer Festival ’13. Amber with white head. Quite a fruity beer, peachy, plum with a vanilla ice cream background, quite a sweetish malty beer. Ok but I wouldn’t want to drink too much of it.

Bottled. Hazy amber, mid sized head. Citric nose with some caramel. Citrus, penicillin and minerals dominate. Salty bitterish finish. Too medicinal.
