Cask at NERAX. Deep dark brown pour, bordering on black with a thin layer of tan bubbles. Cocoa and coffee on the nose, very nice balance. Taste is dark balanced cocoa with a nice roasted malty character in the back. Smooth dry chocolate finish.

4oz pour at Max’s pours a muddy brown/black with some creamy, beige head. Nose has nuts, malt, molasses, nougat, a little dark chocolate. Flavor is chewy with malt and bread, toast, chocolate, light coffee. Dry finish. Solid.

Bottle, 500 ml at the Clachan, Dornie. Pours black with medium beige head. Roasted malts, coffee. Moderate sweetness with medium bitter finish. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. Balanced. So far the best one from Loch Ness.

Clear dark black brown color with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, dark roasted, wood notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted, malt bitter, dark roasted. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20141009]
