Cask at cloisters. Dark murky copper. Big cheap coffee, sort of frappucino mocha notes. Some red fruit also, and some sort of unplaceable confectionery notes. Really interesting. Slightly watery palate though, coffee grounds, weetabix malts, little hop fruits, sticky smooth finish. Not bad.

Cask by handpump at Blue Blazer, Edinburgh (16 Jan 12) - clear brown ale with an off-white head and a nutty roast malt aroma, caramel, chocolate, coffee mix with an oily feel

On cask at The Blue Blazer. Pours an amber - brown colour with a decent beige head. Aroma of Kopiko coffee sweets, caramel and port wine. Similar flavours with mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. A litte dry and thin but OK.

Dark chestnut brown, slight off white thin head.
Aroma - Dark caramel malts, molasses, some chocolate and toffee.
Taste - Dark caramel malt, fudge, toffee, hint of coffee, Mars bar, some burnt sugar. It’s all there but the overall flavour is rather weak.
Palate - Soft carb, bit too thin though - needs more body. Finish of a bit of creamy toffee, but a tad watery and finish is rapid.
Overall - Good aroma, then the taste is there but too diluted. Finish is dull and watery. Would be good if had more body and flavour.
