Very hazy dark ruby brown with tan head. A sweet chocolate spicy cardamom nose with some marmite. Very lively on the pour with medium carbonation, citrussy cascade notes and curryheat on the tongue and at theback of the throat. Very warming. Chocolate and redcurrant in the finish. Its pretty well balanced and enjoyable.

Keg from Benleva Steve - kindly donated for a Charity Curry Night in May 2012. Unfortunately it doesn’t do it for me but I do appreciate it as a worthwhile experiment. A favourite of my good friend Andy Mo.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 chriso (7254) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 15, 2012
From a growler, courtesy Craig. I know this had been around for a while so maybe wasn’t in optimal condition but it seemed in quite reasonable nick to me. Plenty of life left. I know this beer was not to everyone’s taste but I suspect that would have been the case fresh from cask. I’m not always a big fan of spiced beers but I thought this was a very palatable and rather interesting take. The spice is noticeable but didn’t swamp everything else. All in all pretty well balanced and enjoyable.

4th August 2012 ChrisOs Marvellous Pre GBBF Mega Tasting. Opaque dark brown beer. Few bubbles for a head. Light dry palate. Smooth herbs and berries start off - slightly medicinal. Very spicy back end - ginger, black pepper and chilli. Semi dry finish. Interesting beer but too spicy.

From a growler at the Chris O Pre-GBBF Shindig, Kensal Rise 03/08/2012 (Thanks to Craig Garvie)
Herb and spice aromas. Small white head. Black a little rich on the palate strong and fruity with herb and ginger flavours. Peppery and fiery dry finish. It’s always nice to try something original and unique and this one definitely ticked those boxes!
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Leighton (7183) - London, ENGLAND - SEP 1, 2012
Growler at Chriso’s 2012 Pre-GBBF Shindig, London. Pours black with a fine, bubbly head. Hugely spicy nose, some dark fruits, winter spices. Medium sweet flavor, lots of ginger, faint roast. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Spicy finish with some dark malts, lots more ginger, dark bread. The beer is in extremely poor condition but there are still some interesting elements in there.
