3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle purchased at Sam’s in Chicago. The body is a slightly hazy dark gold with a large bubbled and light tan colored head. Gingerbread cookies dominate the nose with some hints of carrots cooked in brown sugar. Surprisingly sweet smelling for the style. The taste has some light notes of ginger along with apples. There is just a hint of cucumber in the finish. Interesting and refreshing. The label says that this is unfiltered and I think that helps to give this some actual character in a style dominated by vegetable tasting or bland beers.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured a slight-hazed amber, quickly headless, with light sediment-suspension. Yeasty aromas of yogurt, apple and oak, when combined, strike me as adjuncts. (I had to keep reminding myself of the words on the label, "...aged up to 4 months in old oak barrels", which is something you don’t see everyday in regards to "pale lagers".) Herbal hops came out late. Flavor began with an apple tartness, but further sips revealed little else as this became just another sour, nutty lager with an added splash of fruity acidity. Thin & chalky palate led the way to a brief hint of bitterness in the finish.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: SEP 13, 2007 Bottled 0,33L. Unusually hazy and opaque color, rather dark and veiled with medium fizz. Compact and adherent head in superficial. Spiced and aged scent with aromas of straw, mint, fresh grass and malty. Prickly and mellow taste, medium bitter but in prominence on the end.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
This beer is a lightly hazed dark golden color with a minimal white head and little lacing of which to speak. Sweet malt in the nose coupled with corn. Light bodied with a floral character and sweet malt flavor. Touches of fresh fruit here and there as well. The finish is mildly hoppy with a fruity aftertaste. Overall the beer is average and not very unique.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark golden colour, white foam, aroma combines the herbal hops and the sweet malt (seems honey). Liquerish and oaky charachter, almost no bitterness. Good palate. A liitle over the average lager.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Mine was deep amber, as opposed to pale gold as others mention here. Sweet bready malt characters, and light grassy hops. Felt a touch stale in the mouthfeel, slightly cardboardy or something.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From a 330 ml. swing top bottle with a blurb and best before date on the back label, 2006.May.2006.
Poured an clear golden hued orange with a foamy white head that settled into a thin soapy lacing, a minor amount of ringed sticking.
Aromas of tart apricot juiciness, clove herbalness, a sweet breadiness with a barrel woodiness.
Good, even carbonation and a crisp, dryish, tart, creamy smooth medium-light bodied mouthfeel.
Delicious tasting, a tart apricot with hints of cider, clove spicy and herbal, a subtle creaminess, traces of barrel woodiness, sweet bready malts, and a banana fruity and dry malty finish.
Much better than I was expecting since it was past it’s freshness date, well worth trying if you see on a shelf somewhere.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear, amber body with almost no head, just a ring of white bubbles around the edge. The aroma is boring and bland, some grains, light honey sweetness, some odd fruitiness of lemon and a touch of something like wheat bread. The body is thin and lackluster. The flavor is sweet with just a hint of bitterness. The oak character is conspicuously absent, which isn’t really a problem here. The elements of DMS (corn) are just too strong here, and really takes away from this one. If it was a little cleaner, this could be pretty nice. As it stands, it’s probably not worth another visit.

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Swing top bottle and served in standard pint glass: Hazy golden hue with a mostly fading fizzy head and some lace. The aroma has notes of honey, grainy and bready malts, dusty yeast esters and a hint of oak barrels. The taste profile is very underwhelming with some sweet malt, flowery hops, dash of fruit, and a tree bark dry finish. I get more than a fair share of DMS in this brew. The mouth feel is more of than same with this becoming boring very quickly. I drank it fast just to get it over with. Reminds me of a "organic" beer, flat profile and uninspiring.
