COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

bottle. Pale yellow, fluffy and quickly diminuishing head. Malty flavour, slight hints of wood, hoppy towards the finish. Nearly no aftertaste.

This beer is a lightly hazed dark golden color with a minimal white head and little lacing of which to speak. Sweet malt in the nose coupled with corn. Light bodied with a floral character and sweet malt flavor. Touches of fresh fruit here and there as well. The finish is mildly hoppy with a fruity aftertaste. Overall the beer is average and not very unique.

Pour is a transparent orange, thin white head. Aroma is stale, bready, woody-fruity.

Bottled. Poured clear, bright medium orange with a short cap of white head. The aroma picked up honey, sweet caramel, and faint light fruits with plenty of oak and a little vanilla present.. some mild vegetal character on the back. The flavor found sweet caramel and pale malts at the core with a quick transition to spicy oak and earthy bitterness at the edges.. finished tacky with the same sweetness and oak. Lighter-bodied and dry on the palate with interesting character from the barrel. Not a great beer, but it was drinkable.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2013 Needless to say this brewery takes their Pale lagers seriously, this one happens to be aged in Oak Barrels. And what other pale lager comes in a flip top bottle? Their Hell Quöllfrisch is probably the best euro pale lager out there we will see how this one is. Right from the pour you can tell this is a different pale lager. It is honey tinged amber looking more like an oktoberfest. The head is white and dissipates pretty quickly leaving some lacing. This brew smells unlike any other euro pale lager. The oak aging is strong and melds nicely with the spicy, floral hops. There are some nice malt undertones that almost seem roasted thanks to the wood scent. This brew is pretty complex for a euro pale lager, and im beginning to question what kind of beer this even is. THe mouthfeel is smooth and mellow, almost creamy and delivers a huge wave of velvety oak flavor that is mixed with beautiful hop and malt. The oak flavor is pretty lasting and melds with the hop bitterness pretty well. Theres definitely some fruitiness in there too. These seem like pretty insane numbers this brew is putting up but it reminds me of what an Oaked Arrogant Bastard would be as a light, satisfying pale lager. Orange and clear. Has a white head, medium duration. Sweet aroma, notes of coco and wine. Sweet flavor, more coco-nut, faint acid too. Creamy, watery texture. Lively carbonation.

Swing top bottle and served in standard pint glass: Hazy golden hue with a mostly fading fizzy head and some lace. The aroma has notes of honey, grainy and bready malts, dusty yeast esters and a hint of oak barrels. The taste profile is very underwhelming with some sweet malt, flowery hops, dash of fruit, and a tree bark dry finish. I get more than a fair share of DMS in this brew. The mouth feel is more of than same with this becoming boring very quickly. I drank it fast just to get it over with. Reminds me of a "organic" beer, flat profile and uninspiring.

Bottle, thanks Allen. Hazy amber, low head. Rather metallic rusty aroma. Roasted malt, light grain, metallic hops, indeed it tates like a barrel - from the outside. Very nice mellow prickly mouthfeel, medium to light body. Light phenolic retronasal.

Bottle. Pours a copper orange body with a thin white lacing that quickly dissipates to nothing. Cider aroma, apple and light oak. Chewy malt, and grain husk, light oak and some sweet esters. Light moth character, eh not so good.

Bottle. Mine was deep amber, as opposed to pale gold as others mention here. Sweet bready malt characters, and light grassy hops. Felt a touch stale in the mouthfeel, slightly cardboardy or something.
