Orange colored with hazy appearance. Little white head. Smooth and creamy peachy fruity aroma, sweet one indeed. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor is also peachy with some lemony and vanilla note, aftertaste dries, still smooth ending.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
33 cl swing-top, bb 03 Jan 2011. Nose of toasted oak, light smoke and green banana. Color of iced-tea with a lasting ring of creamy bubbles. Tastes of toasted oak and pecan on the front, turning slowly to show some vanilla, caramel, and hints of banana. Nice aftertaste of toasted oak and dry grass make for a balanced finish. Light-medium body is slightly tingly and astringent. Seems like a pretty average lager underneath, but it gets a really nice flavor boost from the oak aging.

$3.99 fliptop 11.2 oz. bottle. Best by May 06, 2006. Well, letís see how it held up. The fliptop bottle popped with a vigorous visible CO2 pop. A haze of CO2 creeps out of the bottle. Poured into my glass, it has a very thick nicely creamy looking white head. A hazy golden body with lots of slow bubbling carbonation. Awesome lacing. This stuff looks amazing. The aroma has that sweet milky corn lager silage thing going on. The flavor is really quite nice. One of the better pale lagerís Iíve had. Creamy caramel, nice cornflake like malt, some oak. Really well balanced. The palate is creamy, lightly dry, nice texture, good carbonation. A pretty darn good Pale Lager. Well worth the $4. Held up well. Wonder how it woulda been in a fresher state.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2008 Bottled 33cl. It pours a beautiful hazy orange beer. Lovely color. The nose is of malt, wood, caramel, chestnut and berries. A woody taste. Malty, full bodied with a decent hoppiness. Slightly sour, not in a bad way, adding character to this beer. Caramel and berries again in the taste. A very good palate. The finish is buttery, malty, slightly yeasty with hints of chestnuts. Nice lacing. Rerate pending.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
33cl bottle brought back from a trip to Switzerland by my sister. - Pours dark golden hazy with a short white foamy head. Aromas of light malts, bread, and floral hops. Flavor is malty with lots of bread notes and a touch of caramel but also plenty of floral hop flavor as well. Palate is medium bodied and a touch on the grainy side. Not bad for a pale lager actually.

Flip-top bottle best before Oct 27, 2009 shared with funkybrewster. Pours a murky dull pinkish gray orange swirl with a thin airy soap-bubble looking white head, uuuuugly. Aroma of rauchbier, smokey, salty, oily, potpourri, vanilla and honey. Flavor of salty wax, floral, cardboard, nutty, soapy, ok Iím done...

3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle - Pours clear light amber with barely a head. Smells earthy and woody, but the strongest smell is of a funky, sweaty sock. Yep, it smells like a sock found in the dark corner of your gym bag. Nasty. Fortunately, it tastes better than it smells. Itís dry apple, oak, and a little bit of hops on the finish. Finish is dry and astringent--tart and refreshing. Itís pretty light-bodied and has just enough carb. A weird beer, but an interesting experience. I just wish it didnít smell like a sock.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
[bottle from Visp]
Spicy melanoidiny aroma dominated by oaky butterscotch/vanilla. Hazy, dark amber, covered by a thin, off-white flannel blanket. Sweet base malt flavour immediately usurped by potent oak characteristics; butterscotch and vanilla. Not massively oaky like some extreme US brews, though. Actually kind of delicate. Balance is towards sweet, with little or no bitterness. Smooth and clean finish, moderate carbonation, medium body. Excellent--seriously underrated beer. Perhaps they changed something or my bottle was fresh. Anyone not tasting the oak in this beer was drinking something else than what was in my bottle.
