2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Vertical Bacon Strips (1699) - Asshat, - JUN 8, 2009
Beer is a clear, pale light gold with ample bubbs, a thin white head and some floaties. Aroma consists of wheat, grass, some sort of non-skunky skunk smell that is somewhat sour and malts. Gets stinkier as it warms, but, despite what I just said, it isn’t bad at all. Taste is dry and sharp with a near harsh wheat, ok malts and some sourness and acidity. Medium bodied and quite gassy, my tongue was left tingling. Finished with a wheaty aftertaste and the bitterness was noticable but quiet. Interesting enough beer, but it was too gassy. Interesting mouthfeel and flavour makes this a possible candidate for another purchace.

Despite being brewed under the full moon I feel that this beer lacks something. It’s generally pretty bland. The brewery has done better than this. While it’s not outright bad I would choose something else.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 Nickls (1347) - SE DC, Washington DC, USA - FEB 16, 2011
Bottle. Pale, clear golden usual pale lager colors. Lagery aromas with some metal and minerals and light bitterness in the aroma. The off-putting metallic notes really kind mess this up as it’s a straightforward but decent-enough lager, lightly sweet some almost mineral bitterness. Light body as expected. Not bad, but could’ve been a bit better.
