2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 wheresthepath (1285) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - FEB 17, 2013
[Cask at the Falcon, High Wycombe] Light amber with a moderate white head. Mild creamy caramel is the order of the day here. There’s a light floral hint in the finish, but really it’s pretty bland and disappointing from a brewery that’s normally reasoanably decent.

Cask at The Monks’ Retreat (JDW), Reading. Golden with a white head; crisp and refreshing with a grapefruit flavour and some honey; a refreshing bitter aftertaste with more grapefruit. Excellent.

Cask (gravity dispense), Reading Beer Festival, April 2006. Attractive bright orange colour - a bit dark for a golden ale. Otherwise, its crisp, fresh and fruity, with plenty of zesty hop character. Rather more aromatic than I expected from Challenger hops. Very pleasant.

UPDATED: NOV 15, 2006 Nov 06 Takeaway from Gravity cask @ Bitter Virtue, Soton. Juicy fruity nose, very inviting. Gold malt to balance moderate bitterness of the hops. Not quite as drinkable today but a better array of flavours. 3.6
Apr 06 Gravity cask @ Reading Beer Festival 2006. Good hop malt balance. Some toffee and not quite citric hops. Tasty with trademark Loddon sweet toffee but still light malt but didnt excite as some have done. 3.4
