chris_o (4405), London, Greater London, England Dec 22, 2006 Cask (gravity dispense), Reading Beer Festival, April 2006. Not that dark - sort of deep copper colour. I guess they are going for a Newcastle brown type feel (why?). Reasonably malty and earthy, with caramel and nuts, and some light berry fruit. Fairly dry. Not really my favoured style, although its really more of a bitter than a brown ale, but not bad.
Daniel_Brown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England May 1, 2006 Gravity at Reading beer festival 2006. Brown, flat looking. Rye bread malty. Quite dry, not too bad. maeib (3917), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England May 1, 2006 Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Reading BF. A darkish brown coloured beer with a sweet malty aroma with alittle nuttiness. The taste is decent with some hops and some malts all in balance. Not sure if this is trying to be a Brown Ale, but it ain’t. Joeh (1892), Buckinghamshire, England May 1, 2006 Cask Conditioned at Reading BF. A Dark reddish colour. Malty fruity aroma. Sweet fruity beer with plenty of malt, a touch of caramel and some ashy character also. Very tasty. kook (2035), Perth, Western Australia, Australia Apr 30, 2006 Cask @ Reading 06: Amber in colour. Bacon, mild caramel and some light fruits. Interesting!
