Bottled. Golden with a pleasing gentle maltiness. Some sweetness which is balanced by other flavours which make for quite a complex beer. This one really grew on me.

Bottle from Stirchley Wines, Birmingham. Poured a clear amber with a thin white head. The aroma is hugely malty, leading to a medium bitter, malty flavour with toffee and caramel notes. A super, well balanced, highly drinkable ale.

Cask at the South Western Arms, St Denys (So’ton) - 09/09/12. Clear dark end of blonde with a minimal white head that soon thins. Toffee, grains and sweet malt on the nose. Berry fruit in the taste, sweet malt, a little hops and grass. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation leading to a dry finish.

tombyars (1204) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - FEB 8, 2012
Tasted this at the Pommelers Rest, London in July 2008. Cask, handpump dispense. Pale cloudy straw in colour with a thin white head. Strong note of lime cordial in the intense aroma. Thin but refreshing mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a digestive biscuit base with strong fruit notes of syrupy lychees, grapefruit and lime. Strong metallic notes from the intense hop resins cut a swathe through the aftertaste. Sweet golden syrup notes in the finish balance things up in the end. An excellent session Golden Ale.

Cask @ The Retreat. Pours clear golden amber with a small white head. Aroma is weak to medium hoppy, malty and fruity. Flavor is similar to aroma, bitter and watery. Finishes shortlived bitter.

500ml bottle at 4.8%. Pours orange gold with a small head. Aroma has a lovely citrus twang but far too much diacetyl underneath. Taste has citrus to start with a buttery, citrus finish. Oily mouthfeel.

ladnewton (1142) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 22, 2010
Stillage gravity cask at the Pembury Tavern, London on 21 July 2010 during the pub’s summer festival. Amber with virtually no head within a couple of minutes from dispense. Hoppy - floral/grapefruit with some broad-bean notes. Bittersweet aftertaste, the texture smooth, slightly on the flat side. An OK beer, but not a favourite as sampled on this session.

Cask at Windsor locale beer festival 2010. A golden coloured pour with a slight white head. Hoppy, citrus aroma. Tastes hoppy, citrus fruit, slightly bitter. Quite a fresh sample. It’s not bad I guess.
