2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 chriso (7065) - London, - MAR 27, 2011
Cask (gravity dispense) at Wandsworth Common Beer Festival @ Le Gothique on 25 March 2011. Old gold colour. Eek - loads of butterscotch in the aroma. I know that diacetyl is supposed to be a brewing issue but I do wonder whether it can be "encouraged" by the conditioning too. Rather cleaner on the palate but the damage had already been done. Maybe some beers can cope with a little diacetyl but I wouldn’t put pale, light bitters in that category. Default score and flagged for re-rate.

Cask conditioned handpump Moon On The Square Northampton 08/05/12. A golden beer with a white head. A reasonable citrussy beer with lemon and pineapple notes. Starts nicely tart but is a bit short. It’s decent enough but could be better.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 wheresthepath (1090) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - MAR 22, 2011
[Cask at the William Robert Loosley (JDW), High Wycombe] Deep gold, cream head. A bit of fruit, a hint of spice, and some grassiness. Nice full mouthfeel. It’s pleasant enough, but a bit of a mish mash - not sure Loddon quite knew where they were going with this one?
