2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Ungstrup (24024) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 14, 2006
[Cask at GBBF 2005] An orange-brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel as well as light notes of roasted malt and sulphur. The flavor is sweet combined with a slight sourness - the low ABV definately helps in not making it sweeter - and with primary notes of caramel, leading to a dry end.

Cask conditioned, GBBF 2005:
Sweet, malty, butter aroma. Brown appearnce with a red touch. Flavour is malty and palate is quite bitter for a Mild ale.

Soft and doughy malt aroma with some light roastiness apparent. Clear copper with low off white head that recedes rapidly to ring. Soft, doughy malt flavour with light finishing bitterness. Light body with moderate carbonation. Cask at GBBF 2005.

Not very dark or very full. Reasonably malty and very clean. Decent stuff. Won’t win any prizes for complexity or depth of flavour but ideal for a session. Cask (gravity dispense), London Drinker Beer Festival, March 2005.

Cask Conditioned, at the Wenlock Arms, London.
Brown, not so dark. Crisp hoppy aroma and flavour. A real easy drink with lasting hop flavour and good bitter length on the palate.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Joeh (2036) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - SEP 29, 2004
Bright polypin taken from cask at the Loddon Brewery. Fairly flavourful mild malty and fairly sweet. Perhaps ever so slightly thin but for the ABV I guess it has reasonable body. Nice.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DanielBrown (2722) - Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, ENGLAND - JUN 2, 2004
Draught at the Bartons Arms, Birmingham. I didn’t think this was too bad, but then again I think I may be addicted to Milds! A lighter brown example, with a small, scummy head. Thin mouthfeel, dryish taste, with some apple and a little caramel on the very finish. Pleasant metally aftertaste. Not bad.
