Dark brown color with red flashes, untransparent, brown small head medium to fast falling, full body, low to medium carbonation, oily. Aroma: Very complexed a bit sweet, caramel dark malts, a hinch of alcohol, slightly fruity (prune in chocolate, apple) and a hinch of alcohol notes. Taste: Matureness from toasted malts, low sourness from roasted malts, low sweetness from dark caramel malts, dry fruits, dark chocolate, very long finish toasted with a hinch of sourness and alcohol. Great example of full body Baltic Porter.

The best polish baltic porter out there, in my opinion, and the best baltic i’ve had. Even tho it’s out of a tin, and it’s clearly filtered, it’s absolutely amazing. Tastes a bit like the much more popular Żywiec Porter, but feels much thicker, less watery and less alcoholic - and has similar, but deeper and richer taste and aroma. Really a nice one, one of my 3 favorite Polish beers. Bad availibility because of the brewery policy, nowhere to find on tap - lucky they haven’t dropped the production of it alltogether. Takes some effort to obtain, but totally worth it.

0.5l can kindly traded with ELDesmadre. Thanks man! This one pours a clear deep deep dark brown body and it has a small quickly bubbly and sidesticking chocolate head. It has a nice roasted and surprisingly hoppy aroma. I get tones of dark and red berries, that acidity that red currants often has, roasted malts, chocolate and I have to say, has this been barreled on bourbon? I ask because it certainly smells like it! Not in a extreme way, but there is definitely some bourbon tones here as well. Yeah, a really nice aroma! It also tastes really surprisingly good! It’s not to - but still on the sweet side, lightly roasted with smooth chocolate and caramel. I must admit that I get more of that woody bourbon-vinous touch found in the aroma as well. It’s also light fruity with a really suiting light acidity towards the finish. I would really not mind drinking this again! Really good, and I suspect this is - and will be - the best both Polish and Baltic porter I’ve had. 21.04.2012

Alkoholisch-süßer Geruch, etwas nach Soja. Dunkel malziger, etwas süßer Antrunk, brotig werdend. Der Alkohol ist nur leicht erkennbar, was zum harmonischen Gesamteindruck beiträgt. Dunkel malziger Abgang. Harmonisch, aber nicht sehr abwechslungsreich. Test vom 4.11.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,10,9,10,8,10 - 9,65

UPDATED: MAY 19, 2011 It is back and it is exactly how a BP is supposed to taste. Wow, the big raisiny sweetness, some chocolate, some wood, wine-like. Flavor is strong, moderately-to-heavily sweet, almost no bitterness, touch of sourness. Aroma is wood and buttered burnt plums and roast. Equal to the best of the Polish BPs.

0,5 l bottle as a gift.
Deep brown near black ruby beer with a nice creamy and foamy tan head that melt down to a small lacing one. Smell roasty and fruity, mild alcoholic-liqueric perfume. Dark chocolate, burnt woods some vanilla. Wow. Medium bodied one with a surprisingly well hidden alcohol. Fine roasted grains, sweet caramel and molasses, dark chcolate and burnt woods, dried fruits like raisins and plum. Wow, it was delicious!
