COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mamoot is the brown ale’s laid-back brother, a perfect breakfast beer. Subtle notes of jam, chocolate and coffee add to the toasty finish. This is a full-flavored brew, despite being a sessionable 4% alcohol by volume.

Can pour. Appearance is hazy dark brown/mahogany with 1/2 finger-width off-white fizzy head, no lacing, no sparkle. Aroma is caramel/toffee and vanilla with notes of chocolate, dark fruits. Taste is strong toffee/caramel with berry/fruit and hint of chocolate and vanilla. Palate is medium bodied with average texture and toffee, sweet fruity finish with English hops-like dryness. Overall, a decent amount of complexity/flavor for such a low ABV.

Draft at the Royale - St. Louis. Pours clear, rich brown with a tight, creamy off-white head. The nose has lightly toasted brown bread, hints of caramel. Light to medium sweet flavour with subtle earthy and leafy notes, more caramel, bready malts. Light bodied, creamy. Simple finish with more soft earthy bitterness, toffee, brown bread, caramel. An easygoing mild.

On tap at Shamrocks. Pours a mahogany color with a fair head that fades. Aroma of sweet malt and caramel. Taste of malt, caramel with a trace of coffee and chocolate. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Moderate body, smooth and tasty. Easy drinker.

Pours a clear light brown color with a tan head. Aroma is nutty and slightly roasty with some mild earthy English hop character. Taste has light chocolate with toasted malt, some breadiness and mild fruitiness, like jam on toast. Very pleasant with a lightly sweet and toasty finish. Light/medium body with moderate carbonation. Really enjoyed this. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tasted on tap at the 2016 Centennial Fest in a mini snifter glass. It poured a mostly clear reddish copper colour with weak off-white foam. Low but pleasant aroma. Very nice malty flavour, lots of complexity: toasty, nutty, chocolatey, hint of tart cherries. True-to-style floral/earthy/woodsy hop balance, subtle yet spot-on. Mellow, mineral water essence, but too thin body and mouthfeel. Very neutral fermentation too, where are the English ale yeast esters? Moderate carbonation, lingering grainy/toasty aftertaste. English Mild is my favourite style, and this is a good one. Room for improvements, but I’ll still drink several pints every time I find it though!

Not a bad beer at all. A very thin beer with moderate complexity. Smooth, hints of sweet and chocolate, with a low ABV, so you can drink a lot of it.

Good milds are far and few between in the United States it seems so when I noticed this on the list of pours I made a note to give it a shot. Overall it comes close to the spirit of the way things are currently done in the UK but adds a little New World. As a result it feels like a nice experiment to try once.

Aroma / Appearance - Bronze liquid fills the glass to the pour line with a fluid body. Caramel chews and fruit lift upwards with ease along with malt balls.

Flavor / Palate - Strawberries, caramel, and malt bloom into a light transition that tickles the floor of the mouth before a gentle finish. It doesn’t have the same robustness as the best milds. Instead it goes for the "mild means simple" end of the spectrum. I’d love to give it another shot on cask as I think it might give it the oomph it lacks otherwise.

Sampler at the brewery. It poured an amber color with a tan head. The aroma was of malts and nuts. The taste was of malts, sweet apples, caramel, flowers with some slight bitterness. It had a light to medium body with medium carbonation. Very nice.
