Nutty smell. Nice dark color with thin, but heavy head. Feels watery in the mouth, but tastes thick like a chocolate shake. Great brew from LogJam.

On draught at the micro-brewery tavern/campground near Unity, Wisconsin. Pours a dark copper amber brew with a creamy off-white head that has some nice retention and excellent lacing. Aroma of rich caramel malt, a touch of brown sugar, some apples, roasted nuts and milk chocolate. Taste is medium to full bodied, light carbonation, with flavors of rich semi-sweet dark malt, brown sugar, roasted nuts and some roasted dark grain. Finish is semi-sweet with a caramel and brown sugar aftertaste. The nut brown ale is a major improvement from its old location. A little more maltier than the past recipe. The campground uses this beer with their fish fry. Definitely worth trying.

This is a great beer. It had a great dark brown color with a long lasting head. Very malty with a sweet flavor. Very good beer. I will try to have more of this brewers beer.

Nice color with gorgeous red highlights. The sweetness is certainly there, but doesnt turn me off. Not chewy enough to compete with Boyne River in my book.

Aroma of dark malts with flavor to follow. Almost a brown porter. Dark grainy malts dominate the flavor, but I like malty beers. A it sweet in the finish. A decent session brew.

Pours a very dark brown, almost black color with a medium head. Aroma of nuts and chocolate. The nut taste seemed to be of walnuts for me. More sweet chocolate as well. It almost seemed an attempt at a sweet stout. I wasn’t expecting much so this was a very nice surprise!

toasty, warm nose; unusual light walnut brown; a lot of biscuit highlights in forebite, seems to have matured considerably since last tasted in January and more complex; good session beer as a brown ale ought to be

It’s robust, almost shaggy in body, with a decent set of dark malts, though it finishes a touch sweet for my taste. They seem to be doing well - there’s LogJam brews in most Wisconsin liquor stores and I’ll be glad to try some more next time I get over there.
