Bottle - pours a nice off white, thin head over a deep red brown beer. Aroma of sweet malt and some roasted character. Nice roasted flavor, even a bit of a burnt bite. I like this beer. Did they use some lightly smoked grain. It seems like it. A little thin on the end, but really malty and warming.

It’s fun to be the first to rate a beer, like finding hidden gold. Beautiful color, good flavor make this beer worth while. First sip doesn’t you, but after a couple, it proves to be a nice beer with no aftertaste.

I also picked this one up during the annual family trip to the northwoods. It had a good red color and the expected rich roasty malt flavor, with a balance of hops. Not a whole lot of body/mouthfeel. It's good session brew.

On draught at the micro-brewery tavern/campground near Unity, Wisconsin. Pours a clear copper amber brew with a thick off-white head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind some spotty lacing and off-white ring. Aroma of caramel malt, some roasted nuts, flowery hops and a touch of toffee. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with flavors of caramel malt, fruity apples/pear, some flowery hops and a touch of mild spice. Finish has a good balance of malt and flowery hop aftertaste that quickly turns to a crisp and clean cut finish. The crisp finish from the brewery’s new location water is a major improvement from the past batches.

Dark orange, almost amber colored body. The aroma is sweet apples with cheap tobacco and some earthy dirt. The taste is light toffee and oak with some roasted and salted peanuts. The body is a little thin for an amber. However, this is a very accessible beer that is still interesting. This would be ok as a lawn mower beer.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Pigfoot (2267) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 3, 2004
Appearance: dark crimson color, nearing brown, with a creamy tannish head that dies down quick. Aroma: notes of caramel, and coppery, but a touch too flinty. Taste is fine, but unspectacular. Low hops, good, solid malt, and overall medium-bodied. Quite easy to drink, but not much of a challenge, and too skimpy on flavor. Seems to carry all of the earmarks of a classic Irsih Red ale, if that was their aim. Nice, lasting, flavorful finish.
"Best Beer By A Dam Site" You gotta love that motto! Truth in advertising?

Good amber color with a healthy head. Slightly sweet smell. Hmm. You can definately taste the malt. A little sweet, but not too much so. Bitter aftertaste though.

Copper color ale with an off-white head of thick bubbles. Aroma is mild and malty. Flavor is somewhat flat but still fresh and ok; bitter, coppery and oaty. Finish is unpleasantly flat; in retrospect I can see cardboard in there like some other ratings.

Copper Coloring. No Head. I agree with Cookie aftertaste from Wawood. Malt. Very smooth/easy to drink...nothing distinctive.
