Craft Clerkenwell tasting. Thanks to Aaron. Cloudy amber - brown beer. Little pale cream coloured head. Airy fluffy palate, dry. Light yeast. Light cherry sourness, not overdone. Finishes dry and airy. Okay if a bit dry.

Bottle with a best before of 01/2018. Pours with a deep burgundy hued body with an off-white to pink hued head. Retentive. Aromas are of big time funk, damp leaves, light windex, lots of cherry and earthy and rustic phenolic funk. Flavors are tart with a very earthy and leathery funk, cherry, medium sweet, dark fruit, plums, nice tannin. Lively bubbles, dry, more tart that sour. Very drinkable.

Bottle - gusher on opening. Pours completely cloudy hazel with a huge overflowing pink-tan head, creamy with good retention and great lacing. Aroma is yeasty, tart cherry, funk. Flavor is the same, lightly sweet with a touch of tart cherry, lightly tart with a touch of acetone on the finish. Medium body, bubbly carbonation in the mouth. Starts nice, finishes a little off.

Bottle with Keith and Brian, pours murky cranberry with medium head, not lasting. Aromas are cherries, sour barrel, light copper, brett, and oak. Flavor is most of the same Medium body. Insanely watering in the mouth with a tart complex finish. Nice.

Pours rust brown with some lighter red hues on the rim with a thin pinkish white head. Aromas are superbly complex and perhaps the most wonderful part of this beer with cherry, brett and potpourri wafting from the glass. The flavor is delicately balanced cherries (both tart and sweet), cranberry, bread, brett and cardboard (a flavor I almost always taste in good saisons and sours). Mouthfeel is thick but cut with carbonation that makes the tongue tingle nicely. Overall this is a great beer both complex and delicate, I would seek this out often if it were easier to find.

(Rating #4731)

Full, slightly dark, amber, bright, with little cream head that fades quickly. Aroma is fruity tartness. More fruity and complex, less sweet than I was expecting, which prompted me to read the label about the Kriek contribution. Body is light and smooth. Flavor is lightly tart with nutty malt and mild sweetness (not bone dry like some Kriek lambics I’ve had, but not nearly as sweet as most Flanders bruins). Goes down quick and dangerously for the abv. I would have guessed 5% because it does not seem like there’s much flavor intensity to cover alcohol. Woke up with a headache in the middle of the night. Great!

Good sour brown with the addition of actual cherries making is totally fruit-forward.

Bottle shared at Peg’s. Cloudy brown pour with an off white head. Big caramel malt and raspberry aromas. Taste pretty much follows suit. A little bland and unassuming...

(750ml bottle thanks to Nellie) cloudy deep pulpy reddish pink color. Nose of bing cherries, yeasty, spices, other dark fruit. Begins to smell tart as it warms. Taste is even better, cream, seltzer, tart effervescent cherry, mouthwatering, tart on the back sides of your tongue. Palate finish is super tart and delicious, perhaps a bit seltzer watery on the finish.
