750mL waxed bottle that was shared in a blind tasting. This ended up being the first beer in the blind tasting, which I believe makes it the least biased rating. I (and really everyone else tasting) has not been biased by the other (much better) beers. This was so bad that I actually felt the need to rate it as opposed to anything else in the tasting. I think what makes me upset is how good this brewery is but how bad this beer is... AND THE PRICE TAG. $20 for this bullshit makes me want to boycott everything else from this brewery. Color is very muddy red, well its more brown than red. No sourness, no fruit, no cherry at all. I get dusty old malt, maybe some brown earthy malts. Thatís it, what a waste of money and time.

Pours a cloudy brownish-red with a tart, basement funk, and some cherries. The flavor is somewhat light, with cherry and tart flavors that lead to a slightly spur finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice, mildly sour, tart. Flavor has cherries, dark fruit. Savory, full mouthfeel. Nice aroma. Fizzy, champagne-like carbonation becomes more moderate, but a full head stays a while. From a bottle thatís been in my fridge almost 2 years.

750 ml bottle to taster (thanks brew3crew). Looks decent; a murky orangish brown with off-white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells good; funky and mildly tart with notes of cherries. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel thatís smooth, but could be a bit more sour. Good beer.

Bottle at home with friends. Pour is slightly hazy magenta with a small white head and good lacing. Ripe cherry skin, vanilla, graham crackers, jammy, dark berries, dark grapes, blueberries, and raspberries in the aroma. Taste is sweet jammy, dark fruits, blueberry, raspberry skins, biscuit, herbal, lemony, and cherry skin with a medium sour finish. Medium body with medium to soft carbonation. Really well balanced Kriek with great spice notes, fruits and sweetness.

750 ml beeswax dipped bottle. Aroma consists of cherries, vinegar, wood, Sour Patch Kids, almonds, raisins. Pours mahogany with a thick beige head with great retention. Taste is lightly sour (4/10 on a sour scale), finishing dry. High champagne-like carbonation. Good. I was hoping for more sour and less carbonation, though.

750 ml bottle at City Beer in San Francisco, California, purchased by a guy next to us at the bar (Derek) who graciously shared with my friend and I. The pour is hazed ruby red, with a off white head that is small, though leaves nice lacing on the glass. The aroma is cherry skin, cherry fruit, barrel, and tart vinegar, funk and general sour. The taste is a nice blend of the tart cherry flavors, framed by the earthy funk sour and wood. Nice nuanced flavors, nicely blended. Finish shows softly sweet vanilla The palate is medium to light bodied, solid carbonation and tart sweet finish. Nice one, thanks Derek.
