3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewery.
A: Pale straw color with a thin white head.
N: Touch of lemon zest, wheat and peppercorn. Some orange and tangerine. Biscuit and barley.
T: Soft bitterness, good level of barleyed sweetness.
M: Nice level of carbonation. Light body, sticks a bit to the palate.
O: One of the better witbiers I’ve had, and a beer that consistently surprises me because I don’t expect to like it as much I usually do.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle bought through craftbeer.se. Pours hazy pale yellow with a rather big frothy and fizzy white head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is tiny malty, tiny phenolic and tiny spicy with wheat crackers, hay, coriander, dry soil, minerals and lemon zest. Taste is very tiny sour, very tiny bitter and slightly phenolic with wheat crackers, baked pears, green apple skins, hay, dry soil, coriander, minerals and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is crisp, sparkling, slightly dry and light bodied. Finish is slightly phenolic with wheat crackers, pear skins, apple skins, hay, minerals and lemon zest. Surprisingly dull wit…

Bottle courtesy of Andrew. Pours a bright hazy orange with active white lacing. Aroma is fresh grass, wheat, light pepper and additional spices. Mouthfeel is really nice - soft and delicate with just enough carbonation on the palate. Notes of citrus fruit, wheat, light farm character, spice and fresh cut grass. Really nice, fresh dry wit.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Thought this was a saison initially so I poured it into a tulip.
Only after I poured most of it unto this glass I found out its a witbier. Drat! Next time, proper glassware.
From this session, here are my findings.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy golden yellow to orange color with a thin half finger-ed white foamy head that concaves rather nicely leaving a nice clingy foaminess all around.
The smell was absolutely amazing with a nice lemon to orange fruitiness really sweet and strong with such a nice spicy coriander and clove - like allocation in the blend.
The taste took all of those previously mentioned flavors and combined them rather nicely.
On the palate, this one sat right at a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation finishes fairly smooth with a nice creaminess coating my tongue. The carbonation is there but not too much.
Overall, hot damn, I was skeptical of the price but being my first one by Logsdon, I had to jump. Oh yeah, bottle number is 16985, best if enjoyed by 12/2014. This was so worth the $15. I can only imagine how it would be if I would have put it in proper glassware.

3.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Spice comes through more than a bit. I like the spikey carbonation. I think that carbonation helps this beer pair with more foods than a typical wit. Very nice!
