COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our organic farmhouse ale is brewed in small batches on a traditional farm brewery as it has historically been made for hundreds of years. This unfiltered bottle of seizoen, with its beeswax seal, is naturally refermented and carbonated with select yeast strains producing fruity and spicy flavors that are balanced by hops and a soft malt character. Special Brettanomyces yeast provides added dryness and crisp complexity. For the most satisfying results, store upright in a cold, dark place and enjoy in a proper glass.

   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 5/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 4/5   OVERALL 12/20
JDBaker11058 (1131) - Maryland, USA - MAY 4, 2013
Appearance: hazy bright orangey gold (almost OJ-like), with a long-lasting fluffy white head and generous lacing. Aroma: scads of citrus, some tropical fruit, dough, honey smacks, wild brown rice, a bit of toast, and a firm blast of sharp, crackery brett funk. Taste: tart citrus right off the bat, with grapefruit, pear, and maybe passion fruit; under that the saison notes come out, with white pepper, brown bread, a hint of candi sugar; everywhere the brett has a hand, though. Finish: very dry, a little more bitter than the standard saison, with notes of that strong brett funk (crackery, citrus, doughy, with a hint of plastic) lasting awhile. Notes: Not the hugest fan of brett-fermented beers, although to me saisons are the most appropriate style for brett-fermenting. This was a clearly excellent, well-crafted beer. Did I LOVE it? Not really, but it was good, and I appreciate the loving care and attention that clearly went into making it.

750ml bottle pours a hazy straw gold with some fluffy, white head. Aroma is a neat blend of both styles (wilds/saisons), loads of peach, honey, floral, straw, hay, touches of brett, light funk, dried lemon peel. Flavor is the same, very well balanced, more peach, but a little more nectarine at this point, grass, light wheat, lemon peel, light funk, earthy. Medium bodied, spritzy, refreshing finish. Well crafted.

Much better than the standard version. Instead of the fuckign salty grime it has a ncie dunk and pleasant malt profile.

Bottle shared by Brian and Court at Capones, hazy orange pour with medium white head. Notes are straight nectar, peach, apricot, nectarine, brrett, lemon zest, beautiful yeast and light malt. Long lasting finish, citrus bomb as far as saisons go. Awesommmmmeeeeee.

750 ml bottle big thanks to Brett for this one. Beautiful cloudy apricot pour with a fluffy white head. Nose and flavor are rife with big peachy nectar fruit, hints of wheat and spicy grain, lemon zest, touches of dry horseblanket Brett. Flavor brings much of the same combination of citrus/nectarine sweetness with that beautiful dry earthy character. Balanced, drinkable, right on for the style. Very well done.

Pours a very hazy copper/orange color with a fluffy white head. Lots of barnyard funk on the nose, grassy and lemony, brett funk, a bit of orange and spiciness. Sweet citrus up front, grassy earthy funk, some brett funk as well and a bitter finish. Medium bodied and high carbonation. Awesome beer, although I wouldn’t mind a little less sweetness.

750ml bottle from Belmont Station, split with my bride. Pours an orangish amber color with a thin white head. Aroma is yeasty, Brett, lemon orange citrus. Just a little heavy on the palate with creamy carbonation. Flavor is mostly sweet, but a little funky, fruity, some familiar banana-clove, with a light fruity finish. An excellent saison.
