3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
My original rating on saturday, june 16, 2012750 ml bottle courtesy of theisti by way of bvc. Best by 10 / 2016, side by side with the regular version. My notes are hard to read. Very drying, floral, perfumey... yeah that all sounds like a brett beer. Beautiful full thick head. For some reason I wrote that I was confused by the beer. I wish i could drink this again. 7/4/8/3/15 = 3.7
In hindsight, its hard to rate a beer like this on a first try. I liked it but I didn’t want to like it too much.
I did a blind tasting if Brett Saisons with the Seattle crew. I picked out the beers but did not know the order. I gave this a 3.6, nice to know it was close to my actual original rating. But I have my fave beer (Blvd Saison Brett) a 4.0. Meaning I should add about 25% to the rating. So, maybe like a 4.5.
I am drinking another bottle right now. Had it side by side with the regular Seizon. I like the beer but, again, I can’t help comparing it to the Blvd Saison-Brett. It has almost nothing in common with the regular version. The brett is dominating and almost overly dominating. The bottle is empty on the areas where you find the best buy date and bottle number. There is a bit too much acid and a bit thinned out by the brett. Its a really sharp herbal brett and an acidic kick. My wife puts it best, I want to like it more than I do . So, at the end of the day, I am leaving the rating as is.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Appearance was cloudy light golden with creamy lasting whitish 2 finger head, lacing thoughout. Aromas are fruits galore of Apricot, lemon, orange juice, gauva and melon. Taste are apricot and guava upfront, then slight tart cherry, orange mid sip. A wonderful fruity mix of Brett and soft palt sweetness that blends perfectly. Palate was creamy CO2 with light-medium body, then beautiful balanced fruity Brett-like funky finish. Overall a superb fruity and funky brew. Vintage 2014

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tasting temperature from 13,8°C to 16,9°C. Very vivid : about one third spread over the table clothe, which drove me very upset as always when it happens !! And thanks the bottle is large enough to be able to taste conveniently !! So, when mastered :
Cloudy orange yellow body headed by a fine white foam. Aroma of apricot, peach, yeast, alcohol, dough; yellow fruit. Taste first surprising : sour, astringent, resinous, quite different from aroma; grounding bitterness; hint of honey. Matches lots of varied cheese : vieux boulogne as well as shropshire; matches well a salad of raw beetroot (which matches any beers, actually). Getting even better as temperature is rising.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Moderate to heavy hay, straw, cereal and grain for the malt, grass and lemon for the hops, moderate damp wood for the yeast, with notes of pear and coriander. Head is huge, frothy turning rocky, white with excellent crusty lacing and is fully lasting. Color is muddy medium amber. Flavor starts moderately acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Palate is light to medium, a little slick, with a fizzy carbonation. My first beer from this brewery, and is was a beauty. Easily in my top 5 for Saisons.
